Did I startle you? { Juuzou x Reader }

The Owl Operation

The hour finally came when you and Juuzou had to set off for the minibus. Juuzou had calmed down, but you could tell that he was still the tiniest bit nervous. You, Seido, Akira, Shinohara and Juuzou meet on the minibus.

You: "Hey guys!"

Akira: "Huh? I thought (y/n) wasn't going on this mission.."

Juuzou: "I let her!"

Akira: "Oh great! Welcome to the Suzuya Squad (y/n)!"

You: "Thanks!"

You were all sat together on the minibus for 4 hours. On the first hour all of you were all talking about your normal lives, the 2nd hour got a bit more dull and the 3rd hour Juuzou started plaiting your hair, leaving just a bit of your hair out for him to play with in his fingers. The 4th hour was silent, you got tired so you fell asleep leaning on Juuzou's shoulder while he talked with the rest of the group.

Juuzou: "She's so cute when she's asleep isn't she?!"

Shinohara and Akira laughed as Seido was just reading a book, ignoring the situation.

Shinohara: "I'm surprised you let her go on this mission, knowing by experience how dangerous it can be. What drove you to the decision?"

Juuzou: "Well she's exactly like me isn't she? So i figured if I can survive it, (y/n)-Chan can too!"

Seido finally comes out of his reading spell and looks at (y/n).

Seido: "Hey, wasn't (y/n)'s hair down when we left?"

Juuzou: "Oh yeah, I plaited it! Doesn't it suit her so much???"

Seido: "I guess it suits her but how did you even learn to do hair?!"

Akira: "When we met i couldn't resist his white locks so I did his hair after a meeting, Juuzou liked the idea of the hairstyle so I taught him it!"

Juuzou smiled and nodded. When the minibus stops you wake up and start to get nervous. You shake a little and Juuzou holds you.

Juuzou: "Trust me, you'll be fine" He said as he kissed you.

You nod and holds Juuzou's hand as you walk down the stairs off the bus to see a large alley way with a large ghoul standing there, fighting a few ghoul investigators. Juuzou smirks and says to you

Juuzou: "Stay right here, It's gonna get REALLY messy"

And with that Juuzou sprints at the owl and slashes one of its many, flexible arms clean off. You look at the decapitated arm with shock that Juuzou could do that with 1 measly slice. Juuzou looks back at you and smirks, knowing that you're in awe from what just happened. You start to get excited, so you defy Juuzou's command and run at the owl, cutting it deeply with your Quinque.

You: "Haha!! Gotcha!"

You jump up and stab your Scythe into the owl's head and push it deeply into it's skull. It gets back up, grabs you and throws you to the wall. Juuzou looks concerned, but you smirk.

You: "Sorry bro, i'm not going down that easy, life just doesn't work that way!"

Anger filled the owl's eyes as you taunted him. When you were done having a laugh, you ran up to the owl and slash it's stomach, making it fall to the ground. Shortly after though, it got back up. Juuzou decided to take over and hit the owl with his quinque. Then you both teamed up to hit the owl left, right and center. But just then Juuzou is forcefully hit against a wall and he falls to the floor. You tell Seido, Akira and Shinohara to take over while you get to Juuzou.

You: "Juuzou!! Are you okay?!"

Juuzou got up with ease and convinced you he was fine.

Juuzou: "I'm fine! Come on! Let's finish this silly ghoul!!"

You both separate and run up to the owl from opposite sides and jump up to attack it. Once again Juuzou was hit to the wall, but this time more harshly. The rest of the squad once again took over so you could check up on him.

You: "You're getting hurt quite a lot during this battle... you sure you're okay?"

Juuzou jumps up, angered now.

Juuzou: "Yeah, yeah I'm fine!"

You both run up to the owl, with you stabbing it's head and Juuzou slashing its stomach. The owl started walking towards Juuzou and cornered him. The owl was ready to claim its next victim, but that victim wasn't going to be Juuzou.

You: "I'm sorry Juuzou!"

Just as the owl's Kagune was about to hit Juuzou as you jumped in-front of him, taking the hit. You falls to the floor and Juuzou holds and hugs you.

Juuzou: "No (y/n)! You idiot! You should've let me take the hit! No no no!!"

You: "It's okay Juuzou, leave me, finish the owl off!"

Juuzou: "SEIDO!! (Y/N)'S HURT!!! GET HER TO A MEDICAL OFFICER!!!!"

He kisses your cheek as you're carried away by Seidou, to seek medical attention.

Seido: Hang in there (y/n), we're almost there!"

You nod as you are set down to be examined by a doctor, you vision grows blurry.

Hah... so this is how I'm going to die... Cool, at least juuzou's not dead, I can't feel the pain of dying, so I guess that's kinda pleasant

You close your eyes, expecting to be dead.

Goodbye Juuzou.
