Did I startle you? { Juuzou x Reader }

Hospital Times

Blank. That's everything I've seen in the past 48 hours. The silence was deafening. It made me want to scream. Scream for my life, Scream for the my shreds of my sanity I have left... Scream to see if Juuzou was okay. That was impossible. I can't physically move. That was what lead me to the question.

Am i dead..?

You lay there on a hospital bed, unable to move. You were in some sort of coma from what you could tell. There was nothing for you to think or say.

Is the one-eyed owl dead? Has anybody died? ... Is Juuzou okay?

Oh yeah... Juuzou. He's going to be mad, really, really mad. I don't care, if I didn't take that hit for him he would've died... He's more worthy of life than I am. Then again, I'm lucky to be alive myself after a impalement like that.

It was at that moment when everything came back to you. Your vision, hearing, memories. You force your eyes open and sit up almost instantly. You look around the room to find Juuzou sitting at your side, asleep. The corners of your mouth perk up the moment you see him, he's alright.

You jump at him, hugging him. His crimson orbs flash open before on instinct hugging you back. He kept you in a tight embrace for a few minutes before saying something, refusing to let you go while saying it.

Juuzou: "Why (y/n) (or (y/n) with a sombrero lmao)..."

You feel stern as you give him a genuine response.

You: "You were in danger, I couldn't just stand by and watch it happen."

Juuzou: "You should've, I thought I lost you..."

You were about to say something when your lips were interrupted by Juuzou's finger.

Juuzou: "I can't lose you, anyone and anything but you. Your my world, my everything."

Just hearing that you warmly smile and hug him tighter. You didn't dare move, you jus wanted him to hold you. After about five minutes or so you finally had the courage to say something.

You: "So, how long was I in a coma for?"

Juuzou: "1 week.."

You: "Wow, a week? That seems a very long time since i only got impaled.."

Juuzou: "I thought that too! But it doesn't matter now, you're awake!!"

You giggle and give him a peck on the lips, making Juuzou blush.

Juuzou: "Hey! I didn't wait a week just for a peck!"

Before you could reply he crashed his lips against yours. It was at that moment where you realised something,

You would do anything for Juuzou, die for him, lie for him. You loved every bit about him, his smile, playfulness, the way he tried to act serious in awkward situations. This experience made you realise how much he meant to you.

You could see the excitement in his eyes to finally kiss you again you couldn't doubt that.

Juuzou: "You know, the nurse said you have to stop getting into these situations, it's the 3rd time you've been in hospital this month!"

You giggle at the remark, that was the truth though, you really had to be more careful.

You: "What can I say? I'm a ghoul investigator!"

You both laugh.

Juuzou: "Come on, let's get you home"

When you two got home all he did was shower you with hugs and kisses, and your favourite candy. To be honest, you missed this, and you couldn't wait to get back to your normal life.
