January

Michael looked over to Luke who was already dozing off on the passenger seat. He just wanted to get him home as soon as possible.

Luke just finished his last exam for the term and his last exam before their baby would be born.

The only thing keeping Luke awake was the junk food he was promised as a treat at the end of his midterm. Plus as much as he loved uni he couldn't wait to spend more time at home with Teddy and more time at work without overwhelming himself.

"Mikey?"

"Yes, princess?"

Michael reached with his hand towards Luke and the pregnant man grabbed it with both hands. As he traced his thumb over Luke's fingers he could feel the ring around Luke's finger and he just felt happy.

"Last January was when we've first met."

Michael grinned. "Really? I'm awful with dates but if there's one you remember let me know and we'll celebrate it."

Luke got quiet and for a second Michael thought something was wrong.

"I've never told you that." Luke started. "Even when we got together I said I won't tell you but now that I'll be yours forever you might as well know."

"Know what love?"

"I first saw you in the café across the street to the library. The school year just started and after barely a month I was ready to give up." Michael squeezed his hand a bit but didn't interrupt thought Luke knew he wanted to. "I just spend the entire summer studying to pass my driving license theory test which my mum later said I couldn't take. I couldn't study at home because it was too noisy, Calum just broke up with his boyfriend and I couldn't focus on that many things. I took a bus and went off to a random stop and got to the nearest public place to study."

"You spilled your tea, I'm pretty sure it was Earl Grey all over yourself and then gave the waiter the extra tip and cleaned everything yourself. You looked amazing plus you seemed super nice. I followed you with my eyes when you left the café and then saw you go to the library. It wasn't about a month or so later when I had to read Pride and Prejudice for my school assignment and decided to go to that library. As expected it was small and empty so it was easier for me to concentrate. Of course, now I had to see you all the time so the concentration levels weren't that high but still. You once told me how you were afraid you weren't up to my standards but I've found you beautiful even then, with a soaked sweater and grumpy look on your face."

Luke looked up and noticed they were already parked behind their apartment building. They've probably stopped a while ago he just didn't pay attention to it.

He looked at Michael who leaned over and kissed him softly. "I'm the luckiest man alive."

After eating all the junk food Luke felt extra fat. Not because of his seven-month baby bump but because he knew what he just ate was completely horrible for him.

He took a quick shower and walked to their bedroom in his underwear only forgetting to bring one of Michael's shirts with him to the bathroom.

Michael wolf whistled. "Looking good."

"Shut up." Luke pulled the shirt over his head and climbed over the covers. "I look fat."

"What?" He asked grumpily when he noticed Michael staring at him with a raised brow.

"You." He pulled down the covers. "Are absolute." He tugged the shirt up so the bump was shown. "Beautiful." Michael kissed the stretched skin. "Amazing." "Stunning."

The older man kept his hands on the bump and traced different shapes all over the skin.

Luke smiled and grabbed Michael's hand and placed it higher on the bump.

Michael's face light up when he could feel movement under his hand.

"That's our son." He whispered. "You'll be as beautiful as your dad."

"I think our son needs a name."

Michael looked up at Luke. Every time he brought up baby names Luke told him that they'll choose it after he'd finish his exams.

"I'll get my computer. I already have some ideas." Luke smiled and let Michael kiss him before he disappeared to find his piece of technology.

Once his fiancé had returned he snuggled under his arm and they went through the long list of names Michael made.

Luke soon fell asleep and the last thing he remembered was arguing over how Michael didn't want to name their child Robert Gordon Clifford.

When he woke up the bright computer screen was still on their bed but Michael wasn't. He heard water running in the bathroom and presumed Michael went to the toilet.

His eyes hurt a bit but he glanced at the screen anyway, trying to see if Michael narrowed the name list.

Instead of fewer names, there were more and the word count on the document was well above hundred thousand.

"What's that?" He asked Michael when he returned.

Michael quickly closed the computer and pushed it under the bed.

"Nothing love. Go to sleep."

Luke sat up a bit. "Michael we said we won't keep secrets from each other."

"Remember when you wrote me a song and I couldn't hear it until it was finished?"

Michael looked so soft and cute and Luke didn't want to be upset with him at all.

"Yes, but that was after you wrote the entire play for me."

Michael chuckled. "It's not about you. I just want you to read it after it's done. And that will be soon."

"Promise?"

"If you promise to not ask about it until I give it to you."

Luke didn't answer. Instead, he laid back down and waited for Michael to join him. He helped him to place all the pillows so Luke could sleep while there was still some room for him to cuddle with him.

"Goodnight Mikey." Luke yawned.

"Night princess."
