I asked. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "You can either join our gang and be one of us, or we can give you back to Lance."
I gulped, neither of those options sounded good. "I don't want to go back to Lance, I would rather die." I replied. He chuckled slightly,
"Welcome to the gang. What is your name?" he asked. I sighed, "My name is Cassidy." I said, he shook my hand, "My name is Ryder. Call me Ryder or Boss, nothing else." I nodded.
The door opened and someone walked in, he looked around my age and he looked like Ryder. He saw my bruises and I could tell he seemed affected by them.
He stood next to Ryder and I could tell that they were related in some way. I smiled at the guy and he returned the smile, "Cassidy, this is my brother, Alex. He is also my right-hand man."
I shook his hand. "Nice to meet you." I reciprocated what he said.
"Cass, I will have Alex show you to your room." Ryder said, walking off and leaving me with Alex. I smiled at Alex and he smiled back, "Follow me." he said.
I followed him up the stairs and down the corridor. He got to a room, he stopped and stepped back and he gestured for me to open the door.
Hesitantly, I opened the door. The door flew back and hit the wall gently, making me flinch. I stepped in, as did Alex as he turned the light on.
I looked around to see a beautifully made room. It was all different shades of purple, it was the first time that I had seen a bed in thirteen years.
I felt tears rush to my eyes, I turned around and hugged Alex tightly, thanking him. He laughed, "Anyone would think that you haven't had a bed for years." He said, chuckling. I released and stepped back, wiping the tears away.
"It's been a while." I whispered. He sighed and nodded. "This is all yours. We can go out tomorrow and get you some clothes." He continued, "Thank you, Alex." I smiled.
He smiled back, "No problem, consider me your big brother here. I am always around if you ever want to talk about anything." he assured.
I nodded and smiled, "If you don't mind me asking, what happened to you?" he asked. I shivered at the thought of what happened.
"I don't think I am ready to say, please be patient with me. I promise I will tell you eventually." I pleaded. He nodded, "Do you want something to eat?" he asked.
I nodded quickly, I was starving. I followed Alex out of the room and downstairs into a large kitchen.
The kitchen had marble counters and there was an island in the middle of the room, as well as three dinner tables. It was massive, my whole entire basement at Lance's place was smaller than this.
This was living. I sat down at the island and watched as Alex moved around the kitchen, making some food. Ryder walked into the room, drinking his coffee and looking down at his phone.
As soon as he walked into the room, I straightened up and tried to look more confident.
He looked up and saw me, I smiled at him and he smirked at my posture. He looked at my arms, with were riddled with bruises.
