"Did I do the right thing, Steve?"

Biting my lip, I leaned against the cold stone wall. My eyes were trained on my scuffed trainers. The right lace was undone, hanging limply. I couldn't bring myself to tie it.

The journey here hadn't been fun. Sam and Steve had tried to talk to me, but I had been too lost in my own thoughts to give anything more than nodding or monosyllables.
After a while they had stopped pressing me, occasionally giving me a worried glance.

Steve sighed heavily, crossing his arms.

"I can't answer that Kat."

Pulling my eyes from my shoes, I studied his face quickly. There was a small crease between his eyebrows as he stared back at me. Sam Stood down the hall behind him, his eyes trained ahead of him where I knew Bucky was, but I could tell he was listening.

"I couldn't separate him from Wanda." I said lowly, my mouth feeling like a desert. "Not again."

Steve opened his mouth, closed it, and opened it again.
"Kat, you should know-"

"Steve!" Sam Wilson said sharply. Steve turned round and walked swiftly down the corridor, his arms tense.

Following, I felt my own hands tense into fists. Last time Bucky was awake, he was fighting me. Drawing up behind Sam and Steve, I made a movement to get in front of them so I could see, but Steve moved his arm to block me. Rolling my eyes, I rose onto my tiptoes. The shadowy figure of Bucky Barnes dejected form sat leaning against a vice, his mental arm trapped. A small window allowed a dusty beam of light to glint curiously against the silver metal.

"Steve." His voice was broken, but shivers danced across my spine.

"Which Bucky am I talking to?" Steve replied, equally as broken.

A heavy pause lagged ominously. Bucky raised his head, eyes on Steve.

"Your mom's name was Sarah." He said calmly "You used to wear newspapers in your shoes."

Steve visibly relaxed.

"Can't read that in a museum."

Sam snorted, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Steve
"Just like that, we're suppose to be cool?"

"What did I do?" Bucky urged, his voice thick with emotion.

"Enough." Steve silenced Sam upon hearing Bucky's despair.

"Oh, God, I knew this would happen. Everything HYDRA put inside me is still there." Bucky said bitterly. "All he had to do was say the goddamn words."

"Who was he?" Steve questioned.

Bucky shook his head, dirty hair hanging in front of his eyes.
"I don't know."

"People are dead. The bombing, the setup. The doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than "I don't know.""

"He wanted to know about Siberia. Where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly where."

"Why would he need to know that?"

"There are others." I whispered, Steve glanced at me before back to Bucky.

"I'm not the only Winter Soldier."

"Who were they?"

"Their most elite death squad. More kills than anyone in HYDRA history. And that was before the serum." Bucky laugh was hollow.
