As we stood there, I kept waiting and waiting. then I couldn't take it anymore and started to cry. "I'm so sorry Katie, saying no to hayes would kill me." I said crying. "Stop crying. I understand." Katie said quietly.
"You do?"
"Yes. Even if I didn't understand, I still will always forgive you. It's what friends are for." Katie said smiling.
"Awe, thanks Katie." I replied.
Shortly after we talked for a while, Hayes showed up. "Hey babe! good to see ya!" hayes said as he then kissed me. I smiled and so did Katie.
I was happy I had my best friend back.
A month had passed and hayes and I were still together. Katie had then found a boyfriend as well. My life was pretty normal from that point forward.
The main thing I learned from this whole thing was this: a friend may leave you but a true friend will always come back.
