amber's pov

"hey amber." the familiar voice of vik catches my attention. i look up from my phone and smile at him, "hi vik." "you okay?" he asks as he grabs a drink from the fridge. "yeah, you?" i ask with a smile. "yeah thanks." he nods. "good." i also nod.

"so, anything exciting happening today?" vik asks as he sits opposite me. "not that i know of." i lightly laugh. "oh, how boring." vik sighs. "yeah." i also sigh.

a few seconds later, from the corner of my eye, i see the asshole himself, simon minter, walk into the kitchen. "morning simon." vik says cheerily. "morning." simon smiles at him.

"right, it's only ten in the morning, so i'm gonna be as nice as possible to him unless he pisses me off." i mentally tell myself.

"um yeah, morning simon." i say as nice as possible. "um, sure, morning amber..." simon says in a slightly confused tone, probably because we're never nice to each other unless our parents are round. "how are you?" i ask him, trying to start some sort of conversation so there is no awkward silence. "i-i'm good. you?" he asks. "i'm good too, thank you." i nod. "that's good." simon says.

i look over towards vik to see him with a smile on his face. "proud of you." vik mouths to me. "why?" i ask, mouthing back to him. "because for once you're trying to be nice to him." vik says. i sigh, "i guess."

"um, amber," simon says as he leans against the fridge, holding a bowl of cereal in his hands. "yeah?" i ask. "why're you being nice when you're usually a complete attention seeking, self-centered whore?" simon asks. "firstly, i'm not a attention seeking, self-centered whore. and secondly, because it's too early to try and kill you. i need to save my energy to do that." i obnoxiously smile at him. "whatever." simon sighs whilst shaking his head.

"amber, don't kill him yet. be calm." i mentally slap myself.

"so, um, any plans for today simon?" i ask, desperately trying not to start a conflict this early in the morning. "just recording and editing really." simon shrugs. "you?" he asks. "just work soon." i sigh.

unlike most of the guys' friends, i don't work for/with the sidemen in any way. this is only because me and simon don't get along. if we did, i'd be essentially working for them, but as we don't, i have to work somewhere else. sucks, but all well.

"awe, poor you." simon coos teasingly. "i don't mind to be fair. i enjoy my job." i smile. "what? in a shitty daycare/nursery." simon scoffs. "yeah." i nod. "why?" he asks. "because it means i'm away from you for a while." i click my fingers together. "oh yeah, it does mean i don't have to see your ugly ass face. that's a very good point." simon says, pointing at me.

why did i expect him to say that? urgh.

"speak for yourself. you must be uglier than me because i can actually get laid unlike you." i snap back. "bitch, that's called being a hoe. look it up." simon says. "no, it's called being in a relationship, something you'll never experience." i fight back. "w-whatever. i'm going." simon says before walking off.
