1: Closed doors

Work finished late. The never ending shift made the hours seem infinite. I had sweat filled hands, and flushed cheeks - was work a struggle now? I remember closing my tired eyes and imagining none of this was my life, wishing that I'd stayed at college that extra semester longer to get my diploma. Only that guy was in my way, how I wish I'd pushed him out my life. I was only 23 and still had my whole life ahead of me, anything could be behind any closed door...
The streets were unbearably quiet, the sun was down unlike what I was used to after work. Was it really 9:00pm ? Or was the winter sky messing with my head? Included with the stress from work, and the fact I'd finished an hour or two later than usual. I walked the 6 miles it was from work to my apartment. A little place, not much, but home.
I put my key in the lock and opened the door.
My head spun a little, as I wandered around my dark apartment. All I could do, was rub my temples and feel for the light switch to my kitchenette. The bulb flickered and slowly came alive, leaving a fuzzy haze of light in the area. It made the headache worse and I had to close my eyes.
I was left stumbling like a drunk person around my kitchen, feeling my way to the fridge. I opened it as well as my eyes, and looked for the small plate of Mac N cheese I'd left myself earlier. Upon closing the fridge, I stabbed a fork into the cold pile of yellow and slowly began nibbling at it. I guess I was so wrapped up in my hungry, nauseous mind that I didn't notice the dark figure approaching the hatch...
I took a larger bite of pasta, and gazed out into the gloom. Blink. Blink. Blink. I noticed the person, and dropped the fork from my left hand. Swallow. How it felt so hard to swallow the food.
"W-who are you?!" I stuttered and swallowed again, feeling a tasteless clump in my throat.
The person didn't answer. They just stood further into the light, revealing themselves.
Oh my god. I thought, staring at the hooded face.
