5: Not a good time

I had just finished the multitasking of putting up my hair, whilst eating a bowl of cereal, when the doorbell rang. Tae and I shared a look, before he hurriedly climbed into my wardrobe and shut himself in. I briskly paced over to the door, proceeding to open it cautiously halfway. My friend Lisa stood on the other side, smiling brightly as usual.
I opened the door a little wider.
"Oh, hello Lisa. What brings you here?" I said, trying not to seem too keen.
"Y/N! Don't you remember ? We're supposed to be going out today," she explained, playfully rolling her eyes.
"Right, yes i remember. Yeah, I can't do today anymore. Sorry," I replied, hoping she hadn't noticed the sweat appearing on my forehead.
"Oh, why?" She looked genuinely concerned.
"I...um..I'm sick. Yeah... a fever actually," My acting couldn't have been more poor, but I even went as far as faking a raspy voice.
"That's a shame, babe, are you sure?" She stepped a little closer, probably inspecting my level of 'sickness'
"Oh yeah. For sure. Anyways-"
"How about I come in and take care of you? I know you haven't got anyone else," she cut me off, stepping even closer, really testing my art of pretending.
"No thats really not necessary, I have things in order here thanks," I said hastily, closing the door slightly.
"Really, I surely must be of some assistance? Make you some soothing tea, perhaps?" It was getting quite ridiculous how much i had to act, she was either really clueless or just making excuses to get in the apartment. Maybe I didn't like Lisa as much as I'd once thought.
"No, please. Its no problem for me to look after myself, plus i don't want you catching this," This statement seemed to put her off a little, settling in some form of relief.
"Ok, if your sure."
"Definitely," I responded, maybe a little too abruptly.
"Alright then, I'll leave you be. Get well soon."
"Bye, Lisa." I called out, as she turned and decended the outdoor  stairs. Rushing, I shut the door firmly and locked it with the chain and all. Phew! All the pretending I was ill, made me actually feel ill. The stress was unreal. But I was mightily relieved that she had left, it was just annoying how the whole process had taken longer than expected.
The sound of my wardrobe opening, made me jump back to my feet and rush into my bedroom. Tae put his arms around me, on approach, laughing a little. I let him lift me up, and swing me round. We looked like a pair of teenage lovebirds.
Thats what we were.
But i was happy with that.
It was finally working out between us, connections were drawing unlike they had ever done before.
And it continued that way too.

Weeks went by and we were happy. We worked out a routine; when I was at work, he would stay in my room with whatever he needed - the front door always locked, the curtains always drawn. On my days off, we'd hang out. Binge watch TV, beat eachother in silly little contests, and sleep together with all the passion we had. Of course, I never told anyone about him.
If I did people would expose him - the bad guys could find him. And hurt him. Or kill him...
