Flower Crown

Chapter 2

I had been walking beside Jason for quite some time now. He led me to the lake and we were now walking along a path lining the shore, hand in hand.

" So, J, why did you bring me out here so early? Not even the dryads are up!" I said to him. " I told you, it's a surprise!" He replied, a playful smirk lit up his face.

We kept on walking in silence for quite a while now and the sun had started to peek over the horizon. I ran my fingers through my hair thoughtfully ' Where is he taking me?' I said to myself.

"You look cute when you do that." Said Jason, breaking the silence.

I felt my cheeks redden " Do what" I said shyly, looking down at my feet. " Run your fingers through you hair." He said as a smile spread through his face.

Now I was really red, my cheeks felt like they were burning and my heart was doing backflips in my chest. "What? You don't have to be shy around me, we are together after all." He said, he scratched the back of his head with the hand that wasn't holding mine.

I relaxed a little " You're right, I don't know why I'm so tense, I'm never able to sleep" I admitted " No wonder you look so tired, when I came to get you I wasn't sure if you would be awake or not." He said " If you want you can come sleep with me in my cabin!"

"Ha Ha very funny, If Chiron found out he'd have our heads!" I replied, even though my heart was screaming ' Yes of course I'd go sleep with you!'.

After a while, Jason led me down a narrow path that led to the edge of the lake. We didn't have to follow it for very long until we came upon a small sandy area, right by the edge of the lake, a short log lay on it's side facing the lake. A few small light blue colored flowers lined the edge of the clearing. You could see the faint beginnings of a sunrise above the horizon of the woods on the other side of the lake.

Jason let go of my hand and walked over to the log. He sat down and patted the spot on the log next to him, signaling me to sit besides him.
