Isabell's POV:
I woken up in the middle of the night to my friend, Jesabell, shaking me. "Bell, come on. Please wake up, we must hurry." She says. "What's going on?" I ask. "Another raid. Come on, we must get to the shelter." She says. I nod and leap out of bed.
I see her sisters, Crystal, Megan, and Sadie running as well as our friend Ember Kelly. "Hurry girls!" Mrs. Chase calls. We race outside to the bomb shelter and as soon as everyone is inside Crystal slams shut the door. "Is everyone alright?" Mrs. Chase asks us.
"Yes ma'am." We call to her. I am sitting between Jez and Em, and across from Megan and Crystal in the bunker. Sadie is on the floor in the corner already asleep. I sigh in contentment at the scene before me.
"Why don't you all get some sleep I've talked with Mrs. Pevensie next door and she thinks it's advisable that all ten of you leave for the country tomorrow morning. Ember, I've already cleared it with your mum." She yells is.
We nod and then go to our respective sleeping places and fall fast asleep. Now you might be wondering, is my mum ok with me going to the country? Answer is, I don't know. My mum died three years again and my dad was killed in action so Mrs. Chase took me in. She is my mum.
The next morning we all leave the shelter and head back into the mildly damaged house. We pack up our things, minus Em who's mum brought her things several days ago, already knowing that we were leaving soon.
When we walk out of the house Mrs. Pevensie is leading her four children, Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter, out of their house. "Oh, Diane, perfect timing." Helen Pevensie says. "We're just one our way Helen, you can walk with us." Mrs. Chase says. "Alright." She agrees.
Everyone falls into step. Jez and Peter and talking, Crystal, Sadie, and Susan are talking, Megan and Edmund are talking, and Lucy, Em, and I are talking. We finally reach the station and Mrs. Chase separates us from the Pevensies for a little bit.
"Oh I'll miss you all." Mrs. Chase says, squeezing all of us tight. The trains whistle blows. "Off you go girls. May we meet again." Mrs. Chase says. (First person to tell me this reference will be the person in my next book.) We all hug her then go up to the ticket person, handing her our tickets.
We get on the train and find an empty compartment next to the Pevensies. "What do you think it's like out there Crys?" I ask her. "I have no idea, but I bet you it's going to be wonderful, I feel it." She says, smiling at all of us. Crystal has always had that mum feel.
We treat her like it when Mrs. Chase or Mrs. Kelly are not around. Halfway through the ride I fall asleep. I am woken up by Jez shaking me. "Bell, come on, get up. We're here and everyone is waiting for us outside." She says. "Ok." I say, sitting up.
We exit the train and go onto the platform where the Pevensies, Chases, and Ember are. "Finally, come on, we better get down there to see if Miss McReady can see us." Peter informs us. We all nod and run down the steps onto the soft dirt in front of the train platform.
A car goes by, but doesn't acknowledge us. "Perhaps we've been incorrectly labeled." Edmund says, looking down at his tag. "I highly doubt that Ed." Megan says, shrugging. Then the sound of hooves hitting the ground come into range.
I look to my right to see a woman riding close to us on a carriage pulled by a horse. "Whoa, whoa." She says, coming to a stop in front of us. "Miss McReady?" Peter asks. "I'm afraid so. You're it then, haven't you brought anything else?" Miss McReady asks.
"No ma'am, it's just us." Em says. "Climb in." She says. We all gather into the carriage. I am surprised we all fit. We ride for a few minutes when we suddenly come across a gigantic house. It's absolutely beautiful. We unload then walk into the house behind Miss McReady.
"The Professor is not accustomed to having children in the house. So I best thought we go over some rules. There will be no shouting, or running. No improper use of the dumb waiter. NO! Touching of the historical artifacts." She snaps towards Susan who when to touch an artifact.
"And above all, there shall be no disturbing of the Professor." She says. She leads us to our rooms. Peter and Edmund are in one, Susan and Lucy in another, Sadie and Megan in another, Crystal and Em in another, and Jez and I in the last one.
Everyone is in their rooms, Jez and I are talking. "What do you suppose there is to do here?" She asks me. "I have no idea, but I bet you it's epic. I can't wait to explore here." I say. She sighs in thought. "So, what's going on between you and Peter?" I ask.
"What do you mean?" She asks blushing. "Nothing, it's just you two seem to hang around each other a lot." I say. "Well he is my friend Bell." She says like it's obvious. "I think there's something more. He obviously feels it too." I say. "He does?" She asks.
"What does he feel Jez?" I ask, smirking. "Oh shut it. We should be talking about Megan and Edmund, not Peter and I." She says. "I know, those two are just smitten with each other. I think he fancies her." I say. "I do too. they are so cute." She squeals.
I look outside to see that it is deep into the night now. "Come on Jez, let's get to bed before Miss McReady comes banging on our door telling us to go to bed." I say. "Yeah, defiantly do not want her down our backs our first night here." She says. I nod.
We blow out the candles and then fall into a deep sleep.
