After a great lunch Khalil walked me home. The rain finally stopped. "Wow, big house. What do your parents do?" Khalil asks.

"Parent." I correct. "What does your parent do?" He asks. "Pro football. QB. # 7 on the 49ers." I say

I look at his face. "Colin Kaepernick is your father?" He asks. "Yeah." I say as I open the door. "Mom! Dad!" I call.

"Hey Chance." Dad says as he comes downstairs.

He looks from me to Khalil. "Hi there. Who's this?" He asks. "Daddy this Khalil Williams. He goes to Jackson High." I say.

"Jackson. Nice to meet you. I'm Colin. You want to stay for dinner?" Dad asks.

Dad never is like that toward any guy.

We ordered a cookie pizza. Mom finally came down.

"So you want to make to make a change for you and your Mom?" Mom asks.

"Yes. I want to go to college on a scholarship since my father walked out on us when I was three." He says.

"Poor baby. Don't worry. Just come by anytime." Mom says.

"Yeah. Hot meal." Dad says.

As he was heading out I walk him to the door. "Your Dad is so chill. Cool dude. I hope to see you tomorrow Chance." He says.

"How about coffee. After school." I say.

"Alright. See you love." He kisses my forehead and I close the door.
