Chapter Ten: Fall of Team Charlie

INSURRECTION BASE JUNGLE

We finally found Team Charlie's pelican and dead pilot. "Arizona look around try to find any clues of where they could have end up." Carolina ordered.

"What do you see up there Niner?" Carolina asked over the comm channel.

"Nothin....Wait I see something," it was silent for a bit. "Look to the north their is smoke." she said.

I looked over to the north and sure thing there was black smoke raising up to the horizon. "Alright pick us up and let's head down there." Carolina responded.

"Damn this guy got messed up." Wash said looking at the pilot and grabbing him out setting him on the floor.

"Do you think anything will even be on that?" I asked him.

Wash shrugged. "I would assume at least we should download the crash or something." He grabbed a microchip out and placed in a slot.

Tex peeked into the pelican. "Hurry the pelican is here."

I started to head out. "Wait Arizona I think I see something." Wash said leaning into the glass to get a better look.

"What?" I said looking over his shoulder. Oh. My. God.

Wash pulled the microchip out and we both ran outside. "Carolina I think we found something."

Carolina jumped out of our pelican and followed us. Wash and I stopped at the feet of Delaware. "Del?" Wash said hitting his foot.

Nothing came from him. "We found Team Leader Charlie over?" Carolina said to command.

"Maine! Get over here now!" Texas yelled for him as she walked up to Delaware.

Tex took off his helmet when she did his eyes were open and had dry blood on the side of his mouth. Tex nodded to Carolina and Carolina turned away than headed towards the pelican. York was in there waiting for us and Maine finally came over and grabbed Delaware.

We all headed back to the pelican and set Delaware into a seat and locked him in. "Alright take us to the smoke."

Niner nodded and flew us to the smoke. "What do you think happened?" York asked looking at Delaware.

"They were probably shot down." Texas said looking at York.

"But he has been shot all up his back." York explained.

Delta appeared. "Actually York he was only shot at the end of his spine. My indicates says that the pilot got hit by the machine gun and Delaware was where the pilot was plus the wing was hit by missiles."

York moved his head slowly towards him. "Thanks D."

"Your welcome York." Delta than disappeared.

It was silent for a bit and everyone staring at York. "I love Delta." Wash said chuckling.

York punched him in the arm. Wash just laughed. "Alright we are here. It looks like it was a building probably."

"Alright thanks Niner hold until farther notice." Carolina said getting out of the pelican.

I got out and looked around to see just complete destruction. The building was on fire and missing half of it. Dead bodies everywhere. It was really depressing actually.

"Alright scan everything. Everyone. We need to find clues." Tex said walking over a dead body.

I walked over to one of the dead bodies. I turned it towards me. I gasped and jumped backwards a bit. "Oh my god." I looked down at the beautiful young woman. I frozed looking at Louie.
