Chapter Nineteen: Memory is the Key

FIVE YEARS LATER
I woke up with the sunrise in my eyes. I moved a little bit and I felt someone else's arm over my waist. I placed my hand on the arm and turned my body over to face the person.

I smiled at David's face, he was so handsome when he was asleep. I moved his arm up and placed it back down on the bed. He moved but than turned his body to face the other side of the room. I moved the large white blanket so I could get out of our queen size bed.

I was just in pj shorts and a tank top on with my hair in a ponytail. Since our bathroom was just in our room since it was a master bedroom, I just headed in there to brush my teeth.
When I reached my toothbrush and paste, I hearded footsteps in the hall. I looked back and David, who was still in bed sound asleep.

I went to my nightstand opened it, and grabbed a pistol than to the door that headed out to the hallway. I opened it slowly and peaked my head out.
Shadows were in the kitchen I turned my head the other way to find two doors opened.

I smirked and put the pistol on saftey than put it on the closest drawer. I walked towards the kitchen to hear little whispering. "Ok now get on the stool."

"What are you two doing?" I popped out.

The little blonde girl screeched and jumped covering her mouth. The little burrnet boy jumped down from the stool and put his hands behind his back.

"Nothing." the boy said laughing.
The girl shot a glare at him than turned to me and smiled.

"Nothing mommy."

I fold my arms. "John what are you hiding than."

John went bright red than looked over at Athena. She nodded her head at him. John put his head down. "We were going to eat these."

He opened his hands and had two chocolate chip cookies. I smirked and looked down at his hands. "Alright you can have them but you scared me thinking that you were bad people."

"Sorry mommy." they both said.
"Well your daddy is alseep. So...."

"Was asleep daddy was asleep." I heard David chuckle behind me.

"Daddy!" they both yelled and ran to him jumping into his arms.

"Hey kiddos." he said holding both of them in his huge arms. "How about both of you go get ready we have to go to uncle Alex's house."

"Ok daddy!" they yelled running in their rooms.

David stood up from the ground and smiled at me. "Good morning beautiful." He put his hands on my waist and pulled me close.

"Never thought we would have 4 year old twins huh?" I whispered chuckling, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Meh." he said than he pecked my nose and rubbed passed me. "So we are going to Alex's house today? Right?"

"Mhm." I response leaning on one of the walls with my arms folded.

"Why exactly? Not trying to sound completely rude but his daughter is a lot like him. Ya know with the powers and all." he described getting some orange juice out and pouring some in a small cup.

I raised an eyebrow. "What Catherine scares you? Plus it's her birthday."

David laughed as he was drinking his cup than he stop laughing. "Yes."

I leaned off the wall and walked towards him wrapping my arms around his hips. "She is beautiful young little girl just because her eyes are different color and the powers she has doesn't make her scary."

David raised an eyebrow at me and smirked. "Plus she can't control it. Remember when Athena and her were playing dolls and when Catherine and her wanted the same one Catherine threw a big fit and everything started to fly in the room."
