Chapter 44

Melissa Winters:

Jason's gun went off. He smirked & everybody smirked too. I just sat there looking at the way he touched the gun. Like if he put it down the gun would go away.

"Melissa?" I turn around. Alex touched my shoulder. "Are you ready?" He asked. I nodded. "Yeah" I said. I stand up & I was walking towards the door.

Someone caught my wrist. It was Jason. "Here, you never know when you need it" he said. He handed me a gun. I didn't wanna take it. "I can't" I said. He insisted.

Alex took the gun. "I'll give it to her later" Alex said. I shake my head at Jason. I know he's a criminal but this side I have never seen.

Jason didn't say bye either. He just started at me. Then he turned around & started to make plans with the boys.

I walk behind Alex trying to control that tear falling. Great way of telling each other bye..

Alex grabs my hand. "It's okay, he always makes it" he said. He then let's go. He put a backpack on & he started the car. "What if he doesn't make it this time?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow.

"He's a McCann.. We are some clever motherfuckers" Alex said. I chuckled. He opened the door & the sound of the engine started. I opened the door & went in too.

Alex started driving. Though the passenger sit I could see the house getting smaller & smaller. He stopped the car. "Fuck!" He said. I looked at him. "What?" I asked. I tried to follow his gaze.

I look at front & I see all the police officers coming in. FBI, Army soldiers, Even some U.S Marshals. I look in panic at Alex. "What are we gonna do?" I asked. He shakes his head. "I'm not sure" he said.

I wanted to cry so bad. The door opens from his side which makes me snap out of my thoughts. "Come on" he said. I open my door too. He then guide me towards the forest. Well it looked like a forest.

As long as my feet touched the ground I felt safe. Alex indicated me. I walked behind him. Since they were getting closer we started running. We ran all the way were the big fences were. He went under it to get out of the big land that Jason owned.

We walked for what it felt like forever. I don't know if they found the car we are in. What happen to Jason. I'm so confused. I guess we are gonna have to wait until he shows up to the place we are going.
