Bottom Up

Thistle honey on the tongue
tastes sweet and sour
and is eaten among
the pungent cheeses any hour

A floral aroma deep and strong
spread among an admiring throng
who dip savory pastries there into
its dish among a drunk milieu

Even thorny little things
can with time be known to bring
delightful pleasure to senses full
Making a kind heart from one cruel

Drink deep from the spirit
of a summer honey wine
and taste all the dreams
plucked from the vine

Stir in the bitters bit by bit
bleed each one into your cup
add a touch of spice where they sit
and then you can tip the bottom up
