Nora felt the warm tears roll down her face, she ignored the instinct to wipe them. She heard everything, everything, every little sound, the crash against cabinets, the cries of pain ringing throughout the small house. She heard it, all of it. Then, the last cry rung out, it all stopped. She heard them dragging something towards the front door, a body, she assumed. But who's? As soon as she made sure who ever was invading her home she crawled out from under her parents' bed -where she was hiding- she stopped, her jaw dropped, she stared wide-eyed at the sight of it all, blood, blood everywhere, she found control of her body again, she slowly started walking to the kitchen, more blood, more things that sent shivers throughout her body. Then, that's when she saw it, her mom, a knife in her scull, her hands still gripping the handle, they controlled her, she felt more tears roll down, she scurried towards her mom's body. She cried onto her. When she finally looked up she saw they had done the same thing to her dad. Then it dawned on her, she had no other family other than her grandmother. But how would she tell her what happened? She was only 11. First, no matter how hard it was, she needed to clean all this up, if she was gonna live here that is. She got up and walked over to her mom's portscreen on the counter when she raised her hand to begin the comm she realized how much her hand was shaking. She ignored it and continued, she dialed her grandma's number. She answered and Nora began speaking. She also realized how shaky her voice was "G-g-grandma?" Nora stuttered "Yes dear, are you alright? you sound scared?" Her grandma answered, her voice also becoming shaky. "M-m..." She didn't know where to start, how would she tell her grandma her son was dead? "D-d-dad a-and mom th-they're... Um d-de..." She hesitated wondering how her grandma would react, she knew she'd be freaked out but what would she say? "Dead" she finally found herself saying after maybe 30 seconds. She heard a gasp and some sobbing "Is Michael with you?" Her grandma said "N-no, th-they took him" more sobbing "Oh my poor baby" her grandma sobbed. "I know, I know.." Nora said not exactly sure who she was referring to by "baby" her son? Grandson? Nora? "I'm coming o-over sw-sw-sweetie" Her grandma said between her sobs "Ok" Nora said before ending the comm. She looked over towards the bodies, her parent's bodies, and swallowed her tears. "What am I supposed to do until she gets here?" Nora murmured to herself. She shut the portscreen off and headed into the living room. She almost sat on he couch but quickly walked away because it was covered in blood and ripped at like claws, now that she looked at it they looked like an animal's. She shook the thought away and hauled herself into her bay window, she stared wide-eyed out onto the streets looking for her grandma, cars went by every now and then but none of her grandma's. She found herself dozing off, she let herself fall asleep, stressed, she was so stressed she couldn't keep her eyes open she needed a rest from it all. The  the loud roar of an old truck became louder as she broke away from her sleep. Blood rushed into her head, her grandma was here. The stress was unbearable so it took a while to process what was happening, she jumped up from her spot on the windowsill and ran towards the front door where her grandma was waiting. She melted into her grandma's arms and began to weep. "There, there my petal" Her grandma said, her voice warm and soft. "Oh grandma" she sobbed "Wh-wh-what are they g-g-gonna do to him?" Nora said sounding like a stutterer. "They.." Her grandma hesitated, in fear that the truth would kill Nora "The Queen will have him made into one her.. Soldiers" her grandma said, her words drained of hope. Nora's sobbed even harder. "He will be... Made to destroy and will never think of emotions" her sobs were terrible and there was no stop. Her grandma tore Nora  away from the embrace and crouched over meeting Nora's eye level "Hey let's go inside and we'll deal with this there" Nora nodded and her grandma led her into the entrance. Her grandma started fixing some hot chocolate for Nora and some tea for herself. The smell starting cheering Nora up. She wiped at her face, sticky from dry tears. Nora smiled when her grandma set the mug on the table. Nora smugly walked over to the table and sat down in her chair and peered into the mug. A face made of marshmallows greeted her. Nora giggled and went to take a sip. Her grandma sat down with her tea and smiled at Nora. A frown returned to Nora's face and she put the mug down, her eyes glued to the bodies still sprawled across the floor she held back tears and asked "what- what about th-those?" She said pointing at the bodies, her voice sounding like she had swallowed a handful of gravel. Her grandma also set her cup down. she began to cry as soon as her eye caught her son's body. When she finished sobbing she answered "we'll take them out" her grandma's face was pale now. "We will have a private funeral" Her grandma's voice startled her, she nodded. "Then what?" Nora asked. "We'll find the bastards who took your brother and murder them"
