Finding out you of all people was Shavonte's soulmate made her want to hyperventilate or pass out.
You are a quiet woman who was honestly terrifying. As one of the owners of the team, you had worked hard to make people take the WNBA seriously and you started by get Liberty to win two championships in a row. (A/N: oh how I wish this was true)
Shavonte's mark was simple. It was a crown on top of a skull and a sword through the mouth. It sat on her wrist and she would look at, wondering when she would find her mate.
Now how did she find you? It was by chance. The team was having a meeting when you poked your head into the room.
"My apologies," you said, your soft voice traveling.
"Oh it's fine Miss Crown," Bill said.
You nodded and stood to the side, listening as bill continued to talk. It wasn't even Shavonte who noticed the mark. It was Tina.
Tina pinched Shavonte.
"Ow!" She hissed, glaring at the younger teammate.
"She has it."
Confusion bloomed and Tina pointed at her wrist and then at you. Shavonte blinked. Suddenly, a dozen thoughts raced through her mind. She felt lightheaded.
Standing, She started to leave the room. You looked at her and at that moment Shavonte fainted.
You instantly caught her, cradling the guard. Her teammates clamoured around.
"I'll take her to the infirmary," you said.
"Her phone!" Tina said.
She placed it in your pocket and you nodded before leaving the room.

Shavonte woke up to you sitting next to her, typing away on your laptop. Her breathing increased and she guess you heard it because in a instant you were up and looking at her.Shavonte felt you grab her hand and she felt warmth, safety, and calmness sweep over her. She intertwined her fingers with yours and you sat back down.
"You're my mate," you said softly.
Shavonte nodded. A small smile appeared on your lips and Shavonte grinned.
You kissed her mark making her blush before rubbing it.
"Your teammates will be here soon."
"How-"
"The entire practice."
"What?!"
You shrugged. A knock prevented any more questions. You let go, stepped back and allowed her teammates to surround her.

Shavonte arrived at your place and was in awe. You owned a penthouse overlooking Central Park. The place was tastefully decorated with a colour scheme of black, white, and rose gold. You also own a black pitbull named Taurasi. You hugged her before kissing her forehead. Shavonte watched you turn and walk to the kitchen and she drooled. Your pants hung low on your hips and you had on a sports bra which left your skin glowing under the kitchen light. Tattoos lined your skin and Shavonte was curious how she never noticed them.
