Hello, my loves!

Welcome to Her Proposal, which is actually the first in the Groom's series.

I plan on writing three different couples, first of whom are Arjun Mehta & Sanam Shah.

This project is something I have been working on for the last year and a half, and I finally have it polished enough where I feel comfortable in sharing it. I'm excited to do so & I hope you all will have a grand time reading it!

I would like to add a few disclaimers:

1. I will update as often as I can - I am currently in the process of applying for my PhD & also working in a research lab (needless to say, both of which, friends & family take precedence over writing).

2. The actors I have chosen are my choice. You are free to imagine others as well if you do not like mines!

3. This novel is meant to be voiced in a mature tone. The characters are adults. Therefore, there will be serious concepts explored & you should expect it to be more grown-up than my other novels where my characters have mostly been teens-college life. I myself am only 21 while these characters are 24+ but I will do my best to justify them.

4. That doesn't mean though it'll be a boring read :P With the reality, there will still be TONS of good romance, some childishness and a pinch of cliches (though I am not a huge fan of them so I will be trying to stay away from them)

5. I am going to try to edit the chapters before posting them, but if at times it switches tenses, I hope you'll be able to avoid it. I will choose those minor things as and when I get the chance. As its a NaNoWriMo Project, there will be less frequent updates in next 2 weeks, and more after.

  His chewing stopped midway and his eyes snapped up to her. He looked a mixture of shock and wanting to laugh. He couldn't decide how serious she was. Then, he returned the burger to the plate and looked back up at her.
  "Give me one good reason."

  Arjun Mehta loves with everything he's got even after his tragic past. In the Indian community, boys are harassed to be strong, macho, conceal emotions, etc. - but here's a guy who defies all stereotypes. Maybe its because he is born and raised in the States, maybe it's because he's the younger son of a rich family, maybe it's because of his parents' egalitarian marriage he had as a role model.
 
  Sanam Shah runs from even the idea of love because she's only ever seen people getting hurt. In the culture where she is bound by her familial role, she is the last person who wants to get married, please her husband, be a mother and housewife - and here's a girl who defies the norms to live her life on her own terms. She wants to be a doctor, and to escape her parents' arranged marriage, she takes it upon herself to arrange her own marriage.
 
  He proves better against her prejudices even as his past threatens him at each turn. Now, if only she'll stop fighting and accept the love that's right in front of her. If only she'll understand that with a guy like Arjun, she can have both her dreams and love. If only, she'd truly give in to her proposal.
