Chapter One: I Met a Girl

I don't have any friends. People mostly stay away from me. They say I'm a mysterious guy on the outside, and a pervert on the inside. I don't know how some people think. I don't know if they're born crazy or they have a whack on the head. Actually, those two are the same. Why did I even say those?

I entered the gates of Seiyo Academy. I entered my classroom and got prepared for the craziness of my class. I put my bag down on my chair and sat down. I examined my classroom. Kukai's at it again. Kukai? He's the popular guy here in Seiyo Academy. He's known for his skills in soccer. Right now, Kukai's kicking his soccer ball and I know that will cause destruction to this classroom. One time, he destroyed a chair and a table thanks to his craziness. I looked away and saw Tadase. Tadase is the 'prince' of this school. He's just entering the classroom and I can see his fangirls outside squealing and holding their gifts for him. God, they're annoying. I saw the Fujisaki Twins of Seiyo Academy. Nadeshiko Fujisaki and Nagihiko Fujisaki. Boy and girl. Nadeshiko met up with Rima and Yaya, her two best friends. Nagihiko went up to Kairi. His best friend. Why I know all of this stuff? I'm attentive. I have good ears.

"Hello my loyal subjects!"

That voice creeps me out the minute I heard it. Saaya's back. She was gone for a week because of a shoot she was doing in Hokkaido. She's the queen bee of this school. She's the most annoying witch on the planet. "Tadase-kun! I've come back!" I heard Saaya. She ran up to Tadase and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Well, you know what I mean. It's disgusting I know. Tadase's fangirls are out there with their eyes on fire just seeing Saaya.

"Saaya-chan! I've missed you." Tadase said. God I don't want to hear their conversation anymore.

"Kukai! Utau alert! Utau alert!" I heard one of his friends call out.

Utau is the star singer of our school. She sings beautifully like any other singer out there. Oh yeah I forgot to tell you that Kukai really, REALLY loves Utau. But sad to say, she's in another class. That saddened Kukai. A lot. I think Utau likes me and not Kukai. She always blushes when I'm around and she stares at me like she loves me. When she passed by our classroom, Kukai went straight to the door and to Utau.

"Utau, please accept this box of candies from me." Kukai said confidently, his head held up high. "I'm sorry, candies are bad for my throat. It will affect my singing." Utau said, then walked past them.

"I'm sorry bro." His friend said. Kukai was crying. I feel bad for him. When Utau passed by the door and saw me, she quickly turned away and walked faster than usual. When our teacher entered, Everyone settled down. Kukai wiped the tears from his eyes. God I feel bad for him. Utau rejected him a lot of times already.

"Class dismissed!"

Hearing that made me feel better. I took out my bento and started eating lunch. As usual, everyone ate their lunch with their friends. As I was finished, Kukai suddenly went up to me. This was very rare mostly for my classmates. "Um, Ikuto? Can you do something for me?"

Obviously for Utau, I said in my mind. "What?" I said nonchalantly.

"Can you...give this to Utau? I heard she likes you so..." He then handed me a box of bite sized fruits. "I know she doesn't like sweets so I decided to give her fruits instead."

"I'll do it." I said, "But I'll give it to her later this afternoon."

"Sure! Thanks Ikuto! You're a nice guy after all." He said walking away.

"Nice guy?" I mumbled to myself.

"Here." I gave the box of fruits to Utau. She smiled. "Thanks." As she opened the box, she found a note. She opened it and it said:

This is for you. Since you don't like to eat sweets, I decided to use fruits.

"Turn it over." I said. This man has some guts. Because Kukai wrote:

I love you, Utau

Utau was blushing. I knew her feelings. "Go accept him already. You should feel bad for him. After countless of gifts he sent you." I said. I haven't said those things since I was born.

Utau smiled.

"I will."

"Utau must've accepted him by now." I muttered. "You'll be thanking me Kukai."

As I was walking, A girl bumped into me. I fell to the ground.

"Oh, sorry!" She said. "Why are you in a hurry?"

"Um, nothing actually. I just like to run." She said, smiling. "I'm Hinamori Amu. You?"

"Tsukiyomi Ikuto." I said, getting up. Our impact was so hard, I sprained my ankle. Yes, that easily. I made a wrong step. As I got up, I used my sprained foot. It made me fall down again. But, I accidentally hugged Amu's legs. You know what she said?

"Pervert!" Then she slapped me. Ouch. "Hey, it was an accident." I said. "It's not an accident. You should've used your other foot!" She said, blushing actually. "Oh come on." I rolled my eyes. "Hmph!" Then she stormed away.

But, her hair is...pink...and short. And her eyes are...yellow. Familiar...really...

As I was about to enter the room, I can see my classmates huddled around Kukai. "Is it true? You're with Utau now?" So Utau has accepted Kukai already. Good for him. I felt a small tap on my back. I turned to see Utau. "Hey. You've finally accepted him."

"Yeah." Utau's blushing. "Thanks for yesterday."

"No problem." Kukai called out my name. I turned to see Kukai smiling and looking at Utau. "Thanks man! You're the best." He went to Utau and they talked. I went to my seat and sat down.

That girl is very familiar. It's like I met her before.

The teacher stepped in and we started class. The boring lecture went on slow like an old woman crossing the street.

I sighed. This is where we first met, I said in my mind. God that girl was a wreck. It was just an accident yet she said it wasn't. It's like she doesn't know what sorry means. Ugh, I don't want to think about her. I sat down by a bench and looked up at the blue sky. I looked down and to my right to see a girl. My eyes grew bigger at the minute I saw her. Is she, that girl?

But when she turned around, I was surprised.

Amu?!?!
