Rookie [Yeri]

Y/N POV
It was the freshman year and there was a new transfer student. In my school, we call them 'Rookies'.

Teacher: OK please introduce yourself to the class.
???: Hello my name is Kim Yerim or as you can call me Yeri and I am new to the school, please guide me well and I am willing to learn. Thank you!

The class stood up and greeted her and she chose her seat. As the avaliable one was beside me, that was where she had to seat. The reason of the lesson went by well until it was time for Mathematics class and I saw Yeri struggling to understand what the teacher was talking about as she was scratching her head every now and then so I picked up my courage and asked.

Y/N: Umm... Do you need help with that?
Yeri: Oh, actually yes. I am not very good with Mathematics, honestly.
Y/N: It's okay. Come, let me teach you. You take this divide by this because...

After I helped her, I realise that the time is nearly up so I hurried to complete my work before the school bell rings.

Ring!
The school bell finally rang after an exhausting day of school. As I was about to exit the school, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to find Yeri giving me a big smile.

Yeri: Uh, Y/N. I want to repay your kindness of helping me with my work so... do you want to hang out somewhere or having lunch together.
Y/N: Sorry, I have something after this. I have to go. Maybe next time.
Yeri: Well okay then.

Yeri smiles as to hide her disappointment. But I can see that she is extremely disappointed. As I left the school, Yeri asked me if she could walk me home. And being a gentleman I am, I decided to walk her home instead.

We chatted about all sorts of things like our hobbies and our childhood.

The next day...
It was the end of class. I was about to go home when I spotted Yeri being bullied by the group of boy who named themselves 'Monsta'. So irritating. I walked over to them and asked them to back off. But they were stubborn and did not listen.

So everything ended up in a big brawl. I ended up punching their leader, Shownu. When the rest of the gang beat me up. I had bruises and a cut of my lip. Just then, the principal saw everything and told them off and sent them to detention class for their behavior.

Yeri brought me home as she cleaned my wounds. She didn't speak the whole time so I decided to start the conversation.

Y/N: Are you okay?
Yeri: ...
Y/N: Umm...
Yeri: Why did you do it for me? It hurts my heart to see you like this.

I was shocked at her comment.

Y/N: Does it mean that...
Yeri: Yes, I like you. Since the day I met you and since the time when you taught me Mathematics.
Y/N: Yeri, I... I like you too.

A wide smile spread across her face as her eyes shimmered with hope.

Yeri: Y/N will you be me boyfriend?
Y/N: I like you but I'm sorry I can't except this.

After saying that, I ran way like a coward.

Yeri POV
Y/N ran away after rejecting me. I feel so useless now, he is going to find me a weirdo after this. After 5 minutes, I saw Y/N holding his hands behind his back and approaching me. He stood in front of me and asked.

Y/N: Yeri, will you be my girlfriend?
Yeri: I am confused.
Y/N: I don't accept girls confessing to guys. It's better when the guys ask the girl out, right?

I nodded vigorously. As he kneeled down to ask me out. Yay! I am looking forward to my date with him in the future.
