I pulled in the parking lot that was printed on the blacktop, "LIFEGUARDS ONLY." Because Tanner said it was okay, since he was a lifeguard. He just pinned a lifeguard sign in the front of my window, placing it with the wind wipers. Even though it was 7 in the morning, it was still getting hot, bright also. I had to wear my black sunglasses to block the sunrays that are probably going to burn my eyes.
"Come on I'll show you the smootie shack." He motioned me. We walked on the sidewalk near the sand. It wasnt far from where we were parking to the smootie shack. Surprisingly 2 people were opening the smootie shack and was getting everything ready for opening. There were 2 guys, pretty tall, helping each other open the smootie shack.
"HEY LUKE, CODY!" Tanner yelled out for them. Tanner jogged his way towards them, as of I speeded walked after him. The guys did their "bro" hand shake thing and hug thing. It was very awkward, but i just stood there smiling, hoping to get a good first impression.
"Wow Tanner, you finally got a girlfriend. Nice going bro. " Luke said.
"Uhm, we're not together." I tried to explain, but ended up laughing a bit. Tanner was trying to explain also but ended up shaking his head and heads. I continued, "We just met yesterday and ended up becoming friends." I say looking at Tanner smiling.
"What she said." Tanner added. Tanner messed up my hair with his hands bu rubbing them around. I elbowed him.
"Right...." Cody continued. I could see that they both we not buying it. "Always, what brings you guys here?" Luke asked. I was about to speak for myself but Tanner interupted, "Will, this is Amita. She's going to the same school as us. She's looking for a job, and I was hoping you can do me a favor, if she could work with you guys."
"Yeah, of course. We were looking for people to work here anyways." Cody answered.
" I'm Cody, shack manager." Brad introduce himself. He had like justin bieber hair but quiffed. It was so volumized. He had legit blonde hair, and a nice smile. He reached out his hands, as i reached back for the hand shake. "I'm Luke." Luke introduce himself, he had a very nice quiff game, nice smile, laugh, bright green eyes, and a lip piercing. I shook his hands also. "Woah there, for a small girl you sure do have a good grip." Luke continued. I chuckled, " Thanks."
"So what do I have to do to get the job?" I asked.
"Nothing much, just fill out a job application form and come back with it," Cody continued, "Since we are so desperate you will get the job right away."
"Awesome, when do I start?" I asked smiling.
"Tomorrow." Luke said.
"Yeah, but for today Luke will just show you how to handle things around here." Cody said smiling.
"Awesome." I said.
"Be back here in 20 and we'll get started." Luke said smiling.
"Welp, I cant wait." I replied. Luke and Brad nodded and smiled. "Thanks guys." Tanner thanked them. Luke and Brad went back to what they were doing. "What are we going to do for the next 20 minutues ?" I asked Tanner. "Come on I'm going to show you my lifeguard shack." He motioned me. He started going into the sand, and I walked beside him. "Thanks again for helping me find a job." I thanked him again. "Its nothing really, i mean i did crash into your car." He chuckled. "Thats true, but I'm glad you did." I honestly replied. "Me too." He replied smiling. We finally reached Tanner's shack, i looked back to the smootie shack, it wasnt far. Meaning me and Tanner could see each other often, even if we are at work. He went up the stairs and unlocked the door into the shack. "You really do have a nice view everywhere huh ? First, your house than this..?" I asked. "Yeah, basically." He laughed. We walked into the Shack. It was small, but it was nice.
