"Jess?" Your mother had said that she hired someone you knew, but you didn't think it was him.
Jess glanced at you and expertly hid his smile with a small smirk. He continued to pull out weeds from the ground, acting like you weren't there. Catching on to his behavior, you began to tease Jess to get his attention.
"I didn't really peg you as the gardening type, you know?" You giggled. He mumbled something about money before turning to face you.
