From fleshy chunks in Whippet's gums,
Lodged between his chalky teeth,
And the grass shards caught in kitten's claws,
Which tangle when the claws unsheathe. From the messy gram on which he depends,
Hands trembling over scabs from injections,
Under-eyes sunken and scleras brown,
Fogged with tears as he scans his reflection. From the quivering thumps of a slaughter pig's heart,
Echoed by his chattering hoofs,
To the outcast child in a playground corner,
Distant and aloof. From the bony talons of the gypsy boy,
The bitter frost scolding his bones,
A runaway, a breathing corpse,
In the dark he shudders and moans. From the bullet in the soldiers gun,
To the helmet upon his head,
And the whistle whips of the gunfire,
Which strikes the soldier dead. From the spongy nose of the dancing clown,
Airbrushed smiles and glossy eyes,
All present witness his mangled grin,
Yet nobody hears his cries. From the peppy hare in the morning sun,
Galavanting through the crops,
To the rifle in the farmer's hands,
Click-clack, galavanting stops. From the gospel speaker's echoed voice,
With words of church and faith,
Whose spouts of eternal glorification,
Reduce him to a wraith. From the frail old pensioner's basset hound,
Plodding on dusty paws,
Sinking by the fire place,
His icy muzzle thaws. From the tear of the murderer's mother-in-law,
Whose daughter lay slaughtered and lame,
And the wedding night, the iron cuffs,
That keep the killer tame. From the singed dog ends of an envelope,
Withholding all the letters,
Of lovers, once upon a time,
Bitter endings and torn up sweaters. From the finger smudges on the bathroom mirror,
Riddled with self hate,
And the girl who tried to erase her reflection,
Self medicating pass her dose rate.Authors note : I would carry this on but I was stumped, I might continue at some point, sorry :(
