Third person POV

It was little Kaci's first day of kindergarten and she could not be more excited to make new friends. She only has one right now, Riley, Kirstie's daughter, who was two years older than Kaci.

"Kaci wake up sweetie, it's time for school. Momma's downstairs making pancakes for you. The sooner you get dressed the sooner you get food." As soon as Scott mentioned pancakes, Kaci sprung up out of bed and started getting dressed. She got undressed just fine, but she accidentally put both her arms through the head hole.

"I need help." She whined to Scott, who chuckled and helped her finish getting dressed. Once she was done, she ran down the hallway to the stairs.

"No running Kaci!" Scott called after her.

"Sowwy daddy!" She called back, slowing her pace. She goes into the kitchen and sees Mitch with a plate full of pancakes.

"Momma can I have pancakes now?" She asked, hopefully.

"Of course, pookie. Go sit down and I'll bring them to you." Kaci obeyed and went to the dining room, waiting patiently for her food. After they all ate, Mitch washed the dishes as he felt two strong arms wrap around his waist.

"Hi baby girl." Scott mumbled in Mitch's ear, knowing Mitch still loved to be called that even if they had an actual baby girl.

"Hi Scotty." Mitch replied, a smile on his face. He dried off his hands and turned around, now being pinned between Scott and the counter. He wrapped his arms around the tall mans neck and placed a kiss on his lips. Before anything could go anywhere, they heard Kaci call for them.

"Later, I promise." Scott said with a wink.

"I'm holding you to that!" Mitch yelled, as Scott was already in another room. Soon the bus gets to the house and Kaci is leaving with Riley.

"Bye momma! Bye daddy!" Kaci yells as she's stepping onto the bus.

"Bye sweetie! Behave!" Mitch calls after her. As soon as Mitch closes the door, Scott pins him against it and starts a very heated kiss. They pull away for breath and rest their foreheads together.

"I've been waiting to do that for a while." Scott tells Mitch.

"I think this whole school thing is gonna work in our favor." Mitch replies, still a little out of breath.

A few hours later, Kaci finally gets home from school. Since she's in kindergarten, it's only a half day. Scott and Mitch waited at the bus stop for their daughter, not expecting her to come out with a frown and tears in her eyes instead of a big grin on her face.

"Kaci, come here baby." Scott gently told her. She walked over to him and he scooped her up in his arms, carrying her on his hip. They go inside and Scott sets Kaci on the couch, where the two parents crouch in front of her.

"What's wrong, K?" Mitch asks her, his heartbreaking when she starts crying again.

"A meanie pants at school is making fun of me." She mumbled.

"What are they saying?" Mitch asked, almost afraid to hear the answer.

"We were going around the room telling the other people about our family. Teacher called on me so I said 'I have a momma and a daddy. Momma and daddy love each other a lot.' And teacher asked me to show a picture, so I did and meanie poopy pants said it's weird I have two boy parents and even weirder I call one momma. I sowwy momma and daddy! I didn't know what to do!" She said, almost bringing Mitch to tears.

"Shh honey it's okay." He tried to calm his daughter, but to no avail. He sat on the couch next to Scott and pulled the little girl onto their laps.

"Princess, don't listen to him. It's not weird, I promise you. You see, Kac, most people do have a girl parent and a boy parent, a mom and a dad. But you have two boy parents, you just call one momma. It's no different than anyone else, there are some people with two moms. You don't have to be sorry, honey. It's his parents fault for raising him like that, not yours." Scott told her, looking over at Mitch to make sure he's okay.

"Ok, daddy. Tank you. Can I go sleepy bye now?" She asked. They nodded and got her ready for a nap before proceeding to their room.

"She's getting picked on already. Maybe I should have her call me Papa or something. Maybe she won't get picked on--" Scott cut Mitch off.

"Mitchy, no. You want her to call you momma, yes?" Mitch nodded. "Then that's what she'll call you. Anyone who has a problem with it can go to hell. Don't change yourself, baby girl. We'll get this all worked out. Okay?"

"Okay. Thank you, Scotty. I love you." Mitch says, hugging Scott.

"I love you, angel." Scott says, hugging back and pressing a kiss to his head.
