Undertale: the flame that binds us (sans x oc)

chapt. 17 (insert clever chapter name here)

hey guys, sorry I havent been updating. I sprained my dominant shoulder and, well, its kinda hard to write when your arm is in a sling, btw this is gonna be the first timeskip of the story and I may not put as much effort into future chapters, cuz I'm thinking of making a non-undertale related story, what do you guys think? anyway hope you enjoy!

two weeks had passed and the skelebros had made calliope her own room despite her constantly saying it was ok. the room was dark royal purple with a black shag rug, hardwood floors, a full sized bed with black and red bedsheets, there was also a desk for calliope to sketch on and a nightstand with a small lamp on it. the walls were covered in drawings that calliope had made, some of them containing fictional characters, others having creatures only seen in her nightmares, calliope didn't know why, but keeping these drawings around her made her feel protected. sans and calliope had been dating for quite a bit, but still hadn't had their first kiss, heck their dates were more like hangouts and were completely awkward.

calliope was sitting on her bed, she was in a depressing mood. she wasn't feeling up to doing anything today, she just layed there wrapped up in her own thoughts, wearing her favorite my chemical romance hoodie while listening to sweet dreams are made of these by marilyn manson, (the song that is down below, trust me its a good song)

she just sat there, listening to the song on repeat, over and over again. her thoughts became more and more depressing, as she was remembering her past mistakes and failures, her other side whispering things in her head making her feel worse. she eventually started crying and sans walked into the room.

"firefly are you ok?" there it was, the one question she hated, the one question that was harder to answer than anything that has ever been asked before. on one hand she wanted to blurt everthing out to him, to have him comfort her in his soft embrace, but at the same time she also wanted to put on a mask and say she is fine, to convince both him and herself that she was ok.

"why do you like me?" she said, her voice cracking and trembling as tears ran down her cheeks, she started to hug her knees, and sans just looked dumbfounded, as if, that was the last thing he expected her to say "you know what I am right? then why aren't you afraid, like the rest? do you see me as weak, do you pity me?" she spoke again this time sitting up instead of laying down. sans had walked over to calliope and sat next to her stroking her soft curly hair

"calliope, I know what you are, but it seems that YOU are having trouble identifying yourself" sans said wrapping his arms around her, calliope looked at him with tearstained cheeks. her large violet eyes with a glassy look to them, locking on sans.

"what am i then" she said leaning into the embrace. Calliope still didn't look away from sans and he smiled back at her with as much care as he could muster.

"you are an amazing girl, with determination stronger than anything I have ever seen. calliope, I dont like you, I love you." he said sqeezing her, calliope responded by resting her head in the crook of this 'neck', she smiled and giggled a little. they stayed like that for a while, calliope forgetting that the song was still on. "c'mon, lets get out of this stuffy room, feels like death in here" sans said getting up, calliope whimpered but gave in and joined him, while still chuckling a little at his pun. She could never figure out how sans made her feel better, even when they were kids sans was always able to make her pour out everything and make her feel relaxed and she loved that about him. He was just an easy person to talk to.

"so what do you want to do now" calliope said walking downstairs with sans. She was doing her best to wipe away her tears but they were stuck to her face.

"nice cream?" he responded looking at her, she only responded with a nod and a smile. they walked over to the nicecream stand in waterfall, they ordered their nicecreams, sans getting blueberry, while calliope got blackberry, her favorite fruit. they sat there peacefully eating their nicecreams enjoying the serene landscape of waterfall and listening to the rushing water, so soft, so tranquil, it made calliope think of all the good times she had underground, even when she came here in the first place. chara hadn't fallen down yet and the king and queen had no idea of her arrival. she got to explore up to hotlands, then she ran into the lab. that wretched place. she had stayed there for at least a year, in the cold dark unnerving place. if it weren't for there she would've had a normal life, but she would've never met the skelebro's, she would've never met sans. calliope started to giggle a little and sans gave her a questioning look. He raised an "eyebrow" and calliope chortled a little

"y'know its funny" she started "I used to hate my past, being caught in the lab, wishing it never happened. but now, that I'm with you I wouldn't change a second of it. if I hadn't fallen in the first place, pfft can you imagine how boring my life would be?" she said looking at sans, sans chuckled a little and put his arm around her, calliope leaned into the embrace.

"glad to see you seeing a different side of it, if it weren't for you I'd probably be stuck in that lab still" he said chuckling more. They stayed like that in silence, sans with his arm around calliope. They enjoyed the peacefulness of the area while eating their nicecreams and eventually falling asleep next to each other
