chpt. 18 First Kiss

hey guys sorry I haven't updated, I got writers block and forgot that I was saving this chapter idea for later, if you have any chapter ideas for later please tell me I am running low on ideas, and btw this is gonna be an extra long chapter cause I felt like writing an extra long chapter anyway hope you enjoy! :3

after sans and calliope had woken up they decided to head home "you know, we really need to stop falling asleep in waterfall" calliope giggled, sans just chuckled and pulled her up, calliope tripped and grabbed onto the nearest thing to keep her from falling, and that thing was sans. she ended up landing on his sternum hugging him for dear life, when she realized what was going on she blushed and let go "sorry bout that" she said scratching the back of her head

"no problem firefly" sans said taking her hand and walking through waterfall. as they walked the soothing sound of the rapids made calliope and sans relax as they strolled through the glowing patches of grass in the enchanting cave. everything just appeared more beautiful today, even snowdin seemed more beautiful, the tiny crystals of snow descending from the top of the cave, calliope did not understand how it worked but that only enhanced her love for the area. "we're here firefly" sans said waving his skeletal hand in front of her face to bring her out of her daze, she shook her head and looked at him smiling. as they walked in the feeling of comfort surrounded her 'this is home' she thought.

"AH CALLIBRI! SANS YOU ARE BACK! WHAT WERE YOU TO DOING? YOU WERE OUT ALL NIGHT!" papyrus exclaimed making calliope jump

"sorry paps, we just got tired and decided to take a nap" calliope said showing a true smile, a very rare occurrence when she was on the surface. sans and calliope sat down on the couch and watched a movie, then calliope realized the date, it was October 22, her birthday! calliope didn't want to drag attention to herself so she decided to keep it to herself and just enjoy the day, she took out her phone and it showed her birthday reminder, which sans caught a glimps of. he didn't tell her he saw and had something in mind.

"hey firefly, imma go in the kitchen and talk to paps for a minute k" he said looking at her

"k" she said calmly. sans walked into the kitchen and went up to papyrus

"WHAT IS IT BROTHER?" he asked rather loudly

"shh, keep it down, this is a secret. so today's fireflys' birthday and I want to do something special, I was thinking, I could take her out and distract her, while you call everyone over and we can have a sleepover, what do you think?" sans whispered as quietly as possible while papyrus can still hear him.

"I love the idea brother! now you go and take her somewhere, I'll call everyone else" papyrus whisper-shouted. papyrus ushered sans out the door to the living room where sans walked over to calliope.

"hey firefly, you know what, I'm feelin pretty hungry, why don't we stop by grillby's and grab a bite to eat" sans said grabbing calliope's arm and dragging her outside

"ok ok, geez sans, wheres the fire" she giggled walking with him. he only responded with a chuckle and held the door open for her to enter grillby's "wow, such a gentleman" she said sarcastically rolling her eyes, they both sat down "I'll have a chocolate milkshake and some fries please" calliope said, sans gave her a confused look, he thought she hated sweet things since she never EVER had anything sweet, not even sweet tea, she only drank plain "what? a girl cant treat herself? I just felt like rewarding myself today" she said sipping her milkshake. tbh the only reason she never had anything sweet was because it reminded her of all her birthdays spent alone with her mom, eating cake. after their meal they went back to the house and turns out, the lights were off. Calliope turned on the lights and everyone jumped out yelling "SURPRISE" which made her jump back and clutch on to sans. "FREAKING GOD! YOU GUYS SCARED THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUTTA ME!" she yelled getting off of him.
