COFFEE
--------------------
You pulled your coat closer to your body, feeling the winter breeze against your skin despite wearing a jacket.
The city seemed lively, despite the weather, and bustled with both emotions of hurry and leisure. You were one of those with a leisurely attitude. You and your best friend, Ji, decided that you both would go visit South Korea for a week. Both of your schedules were free, so the plan was set.
You looked around, trying to find a place that could offer you some warmth. You spotted a small coffee shop on the corner of the street, and began to speed walk towards it.
Ji had been too lazy to get out of bed, so you decided to go explore by yourself and bring her back a muffin.
The bell above the door rang when you opened it. You quickly closed the door, not wanting to let the warm air out.
You took a deep breath, your cheeks pink from the cold, savoring the warm atmosphere in the shop before finding a seat at the counter next to a guy with brown hair.
"뭐 맘에 드실 까?" the waitress asked, the stereotypical smile plastered on her face.
You glanced up at the menu hanging on the wall, assuming she wanted your order, "Oh, a [fav. drink] 부디." (please)
She nodded, "확실한 것!" (Sure thing!)
She walked away, going to make it herself.
There didn't seem to be too many people there, seeing as it was only 6:30 in the morning. There were only four people in the shop besides you and the three employees. An elderly couple in the corner with the window, and the man sitting beside you.
Seeing as it was warm inside, you decided to take your jacket off, showing off your BIGBANG shirt.
The guy next to you seemed to notice this, "빅뱅 좋아하니?"
You heard the question in his words, and the fact that he said BIGBANG, so, with your broken Korean, you answered, "Uh, 네."(Yeah)
He laughed, showing off a charming smile, "어느 나라 사람 이세요?" (What...country...?)
You cursed Ji for leaving you for yourself, your Korean being very limited. You only understand half of what he's saying. And, why do native speakers always seem to talk so fast?
You, forgetting how to say it in Korean, answered, "America."
He looked pleasantly surprised, "Oh! English speaku?"
You giggled, nodding, "Do you speak English? 영어 할 수 있어요?"
Hey, at least you knew how to ask if they spoke English.
He laughed a bit nervously, "Leetle bit. Not gud."
You smiled, "Uh, how do I say this again. 내 한국인은 그렇게 좋지 않다."(My Korean isn't that good.)
The waitress came back with your drink, smiling at the both of you before leaving.
You looked at your drink with amazement, it looked so good. You picked it up, bringing the cup to your lips and sighed. It was delicious.
The guy laughed again, "You liek?"
You nodded, "It's really good."
Your eyes widened in shock, you hadn't asked for his name, "이름?" (Name?)
He seemed to understand you, "Kim Seokjin. You coll mi Jin?"
You smiled, "내 이름은 (L/N), (Y/N)"(My name is)
He took a sip from his own drink, "Oh, prettie naime."
You giggled, "고맙습니다!"(Thank you!)
You both talked, translating what the other was saying as best as you could, until your phone rang.
It was Ji, "Hello? (Y/N)?"
You apologized to Jin before putting the phone to your ear, "What do you need, Ji?"
"I want my muffin," she whined.
You sighed, "Then you should've come with me!"
"But it was six in the morning, it's seven thirty now! What have you been doing?"
You laughed, not realizing that you had been talking with Jin for that long, "Sorry, I didn't realize I'd been out that long. I'll get your muffin now."
"Thank the gods!" she exclaimed, making you move the phone away from your ear.
"Ji, I'm pretty sure people in Canada could hear you," you deadpanned.
"Oh, sorry. Just get me my muffin," she hung up.
You sighed, putting your phone back in your pocket, Jin looking at you curiously.
"Uh," you said, "난 가야 해."(I need to go.)
He nodded, smiling, "Bye bye (Y/N)!"
You laughed, he said your name with an adorable accent.
As you were leaving, you forgot all about Ji's muffin until you were halfway back.
"Frick!" you exclaimed.
DISCLAIMER: I USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE AND I REALLY DON'T CARE IF THE KOREAN IS RIGHT SO PLEASE DON'T COMMENT ON IT
A/N: So, at the top of each chapter, I'll have a picture of what era BTS is in. Every chapter will pretty much be a different era, but it starts a few weeks after Boy In Luv is released. I'm pretty sure the time's will be right anyways, but the first two chapters might be a bit off with the picture dates.
And, I checked, BIGBANG debuted in 2006. I'm not quite a fan, but BTS looks up to them, and I needed a way to start a conversation between the reader and Jin.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed! Bye~
