Chapter 4: Stare into my warmth

My whole world stopped.

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" I raised my eyebrow and stared at him blankly.

"I said, I'm James Simon. That's my name. I never really like to mention it with everyone. I want to keep myself private." he winked at me and I realized it can't be him. That's impossible. I mean he's totally hot and everything but my soul-mate? Was it him?

There's only one way to find out.

"Answer me straightly, where did you get that wound?" I waited for his answer but instead he grabbed my arm and dragged me to a corner where no one could see or hear us.

"I know I just met you and this is totally crazy but I trust you Anne, so I'm going to spill it out. I got it last night. Someone is trying to kill me." he murmured in a very low voice.

"How?" I asked. Even though I knew how it happened, I still wanted to hear it from him.

"In my dream. I know you'll think I'm crazy--" he started but I interrupted him. I can't believe it's him! But if it's him, and he's closer to me, that means the killer is near.

"I believe you." I stared through his eyes and tried to communicate with him.

"No. You can't. That's impossible." he denied. I didn't know how to explain it to him so I showed the proof.

"It's me. It's really me." I cried and hugged him. I know that I only knew him yesterday but it felt like centuries when I hugged him. It was like there was something that connected me to him.

He looked at me and asked, "Did you feel it?"

"Yes. I did. It felt so warm." I mumbled. I knew that there was something that was binding us from the beginning. He seemed so familiar to me since the very moment I laid my eyes upon him.

"I know." he whispered. He sensed something too.

We stared at each other for a moment and something flicked in his eyes.

"What the heck was that? There was fire in your eyes." I was shocked as I stepped away from him.

"No. There was fire in your eyes." he argued.

For a moment I thought he was kidding but he didn't laugh.

"What does that mean?" I asked. I was pretty sure it was his eyes not mine.

"I don't know, but I promised you something. Do you remember?" he brushed his hair and pressed his forehead against mine.

"I do. I remember." I affirmed.

"We'll do this together. You're my soul-mate you know." he smiled at me and I swore that I could feel the warmth of his breath against my cheek.

"And you're mine." I smiled back.

We stare with each other's warmth and then he kisses me.

The best kiss of my life.
