  Chapter 9: Heal me

Anne was released two days after she woke up. She was feeling okay and she said she's strong enough to walk or better, run.

"I'm fine. Thank you, James." she kissed my cheek and started to gather her things, ready to go home.

"No problem. Can I take care of you when you get home?" I offered kindly. I really want to take care of her so she'll feel better.

"No. It's okay James. I feel great now, it's like nothing happened. I feel like my old self." she smiled. I felt her wellness. She wasn't lying when she said she was okay.

"I know but...can I see your wound?" I asked politely.

She nodded. She lifted her shirt and turned around. I saw her wound bleeding a little from her back. I closed my eyes and prayed that she'll heal soon. When I open my eyes I saw it happened. Her wound stopped bleeding. She felt it too. Her wound was closed.

"Oh My God! It's true." I said out loud. She turned around staring at me.

"What? What happened? I felt something, I just don't know what is it. It's something great." she was smiling.

"Your wound.." I hugged her so tight and she started laughing.

"Stop you're tickling me! Hahaha! What about my wound?" I settled her down.

"It's healed. No scar or anything. It's completely healed." I smiled and hugged her again.

"Really?! So the 'healing thing' between us is true?" she asked. She looked at her back from the mirror and saw nothing.

"Yes. This is the second time this happened. I'm guessing it's true." I replied. She hugged me and 'messaged' me using her mind.

"We're freaks but I like it."

"I know. Isn't it amazing?" I thought back.

"I think you can heal me, but I can't heal you." she replied.

"We don't know that for sure. Let's try it." I responded.

I took the knife from the table and slashed my palm. I heard Anne gasped, but she knew this was the only way to know if she can heal me too.

"You ready? Closed your eyes and concentrate. Pray that I'll heal soon and say why." I suggested.

"Okay. I can do this." she sighed. She closed her eyes and as I watched my wound, nothing seemed to happened. It was just bleeding. She opened her eyes, smiling. Her smile faded away so fast when she saw my palm still bleeding.

"I'm sorry. I can't do this." she said while shaking her head.

"No. Don't give up. Try it again." I demanded. I hold her hand with my other hand and kissed it.

"Okay." she replied. She closed her eyes again and smiled. She was smiling and you can see her dimples. I felt energy rushed through me. I looked at my palm and it was closed, healed without any trace of blood.

"Oh! I did it! I did it!" she was jumping and she almost tripped but I caught her.

"See? I believe in you Anne. I believe on what you're capable of." I confessed. I knew she could do it. She just needs encouragement.

"Thank you, James." she hugged me then she ruffled my hair making it messy.

"Ready to go home? I'll drive." I offered. She nodded and smiled.

I drove for about 25 minutes. The hospital isn't that far from her house. When I dropped her off her house, she felt nervous.

"Hey. Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'll just change my clothes and I'll knock to your front door in about three minutes." she kissed my cheek and ran towards her house.

"Okay! I'll prepare us some food!" I yelled after her. I gathered her things and put it inside her house, then I closed the door.

I closed my eyes and breathed the fresh air. I know she's going to ask about the note. I read it and I know it's about me.

I just feel like she'll freaked out. She cares about me, I can feel it. I don't want her to be scared.

I prepared two sandwiches, the only thing I can make. I heard Anne called my name. I opened the door and saw the old her: grey t-shirt and shorts with her hair braided. I let myself smile.

"Hey." she greeted. She hugged me and she smelled like summer breeze/citrus.

Hmm. I'll get it, wait here. I thought.

"You know me too well. I can't even hide a thing from you." she teased. I smiled in return.

I put the note between my favorite books. Tale of Two Cities and Oliver twist. I ran back to Anne and gave her the note.

"Here. Everything will be okay." I said. She took the note and closed her eyes. She opened it and her eyebrows met.

She sighed and said, "James, it's blank."l
