"He's come for me." Amos repeated again, louder now. He glanced up at Issac, whose face was now stricken with panic.

"Go to him, Amos" Rachel grinned, putting her hand on his shoulder.

Amos smiled at her and pulled her in for a kiss before he walked towards the shadowed corn rows.

"I'm here, Lord! I'm ready! I'm here, Lord! It's your will, Lord! My passage. Take me now, Lord!" Amos shouted, his voice became progressively further away as he walked through the corn. All of us watched in the direction he'd went, waiting for whatever was going to happen, to happen.

But now, the ground began to rumble beneath us, a nearby grumbling noise could be heard as well. All of the children looked around, wondering what was happening.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!" Amos screamed from somewhere out in the field. He sounded so....mortified....It didn't take a rocket scientist to know that he was now dead.

Everyone stood on high alert at Amos' shriek, some kids stood up even. They all searched the corn for any sign of anything.

I remained sitting not only because I couldn't stand, but because now I suddenly felt a wetness inside my jeans. Had I pissed myself? The scream hadn't frightened me that much. Wiping my hand over the spot, it didn't smell like anything. But then, what the hell was it?

"I DID AS YOU COMMANDED! I WAS GOOD!!! I did everything you wanted!" Issac was blubbering now. A few tears trickled down his face as he looked away from the direction Amos had gone.

But then, he looked down at the bottom of the cross. Everyone did, and gasped.

At the foot of Issac's cross, was some type of.....presence. It was yellow in color and it began to crawl up the crucifix towards him.

I stared at this...thing in utter shock. Was this....him?

The presence made contact with Issac's feet now, making it immediately turn to a blood red hue. This is also when Issac began to scream in agony. The presence started to move faster as it traveled up the rest of his body, devouring him. When it reached his head, Issac was screeching in pain.

*BOOM*

The bottom of the cross exploded into flames and shot the rest of it up high into the sky, leaving behind falling hay and echoes of Issac's screams. But his screams weren't the only ones heard now, someone else's joined his in the air.

Mine.

The wetness I had felt before was actually my water breaking. I was going into labor!

"AAAH!" I moaned in pain as the first wave of contractions had taken over my body. Everything hurt.

Malachai and Rachel were by my side in seconds. Rachel put a hand to my stomach and the other she used to help Malachai pull my jeans off so the baby could come out.

"Try to relax, outlander. Breath in and push." Rachel coached.

I tried to do as she said, but the pain was so bad, so horrible. Tears fell down my face at the feeling. I tried to push again.

"You can do it, outlander." Rachel comforted.

Breath in, push, breath out. Breath in and breath out. Breath in, push, breath out. This was the cycle I went with for what seemed like hours, but it was only minutes. The baby was coming fast, I could feel it, and it hurt so terribly bad. The thought came to my mind now that maybe this was how He Who Walks Behind the Rows wanted me to die. Because that's what this felt like.
