Spellcaster woke up in his nest to the peaceful sounds of waves crashing on the edges of the small island. He stretched his long purple wings. He looked at a nest a few branches away.
"Secretary Flair I'm going out for a brisk flight to get nice cool air!" called Spellcaster.
"I'm sorry sir, but you cannot do your brisk flight because you have a meeting to attend to in just a few minutes," said Flair while cleaning her glasses.
"I'm going anyway," said Spellcaster. He put his talons around a pole and shot out into the nice cool air while Flair started to mutter something about her graying feathers. The council members were already arriving at the island. The representatives of the diverse tribes started to talk.
"Where's Spellcaster?" asked Breeze while her nervousness made a small blast of wind in the room.
"He's out for a flight," replied Flair.
"I like it without Spellcaster here, he's always so annoying and loud," said Spike while the spikes, unique to the phoenixes of steel island, on his back became bigger.
"I know, I feel the same way about that obnoxious loser," Glacier agreed. Her annoyance made the council room, in the very center of the small island, colder.
"I for one like Spellcaster," said Charge his feathers crackling with electricity.
"Me too, he's pretty nice," said Burn while slowly changing the temperature of the room back to normal."He has his flaws but he's also a good leader," agreed Rose. The red flowers on her shoulders became bigger.
"I really don't know why we're talking about this," said Ruby.
"I know, we're not just supposed to talk about our opinions for Spellcaster," agreed Flow.
"Let's just wait for Spellcaster to come back from his flight," suggested Charge.
"Okay. guys let's talk about what we would do if somehow Spellcaster can't rule," said Spike.
"For me, That would be a pretty happy day," said Glacier.
"Really?," Burn said while looking at Glacier in a weird way.
"What are you doing?" asked Glacier.
"Nothing," mumbled Burn.
"Whatever, let's just talk about what we would do if Spellcaster can't rule," said Ruby.
"Yeah," said Flow.
"Why are you always agreeing with Ruby, Flow?" asked Charge.
"Great minds think alike," said Flow viciously.
"Guys! We have to discuss the council business!" yelled Spike.
"You know what. Secretary Flair, can you please just get Spellcaster?" asked Breeze.
"Of course," said Flair.
Secretary Flair went out to go after Spellcaster. She knew how far he usually went. She flew as fast as she could and sped towards the beach. She flew down to Spellcaster.
When she came back she was crying very hard holding a purple feathered body. Flair fell down. Through her tears, she was able to gasp out two words.
"He's d-d-dead," the whole council gasped in fear. They were horrified. They began a funeral along the coast of the isle. They mourned for five months.
