The following week, Eloria once again walked into the familiar building, but this time with someone else on tow. It was none other than her friend, May.

"Okay, we gotta be quick. Just two drinks, and then we leave, alright?" said May, half whining.

"Do you even know who you're talking to?" Eloria rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever Ms. Always-On-Time-Perfectionist," May scoffed.

Once the two of them got to the counter, Chad was there in his usual spot, waiting to take their orders. Except this time, instead of a cheery smile, he looked more shocked and confused. Eloria was just about to ask him what was the matter when May started talking.

"Helloooo Chad! How's my favorite nuisance?" May said enthusiastically.

Eloria furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "You two know each other?" she asked.
"Yeah. Wait, do you two know each other?" May looked at the two of them.

"Well..." Eloria looked at Chad who immediately snapped out of it.

"Uh.. Hey! Yeah, we recently started... talking about.. stuff, haha," Chad stammered.
"I didn't know you two were friends," he pointed out.

"Yeah, we've been friends for years," May said. "It's a small world after all, huh?" she shrugged.

"Come to think of it, I wonder why I haven't introduced the two of you to each other before this," May said thoughtfully. "Must've slipped my mind," she shrugged once again.

"Right.. So, I'm guessing one caramel macchiato and one-" Chad started but got cut off by May.
"Chocolate frapp!"
"With extra chocolate?"
"Please, like you don't know me, pft."

Eloria watched the two of them bicker and suddenly felt left out for some reason. She knew she had no reason to feel that way, so she scolded herself and just smiled at them when they looked at her.

Chad wasn't particularly invested in Eloria this time round though, probably because May was there.

Eloria shook her head, mentally slapping herself.
This is your best friend and your... potentially good friend. Snap out of it!

Once they actually got their drinks, over fifteen minutes have passed and the two girls have already missed the intro of the movie they were supposedly going to watch.

May bid Chad goodbye and Chad simply waved, looking over at Eloria for moment. Eloria gave him a half-smile before walking out the door.

Could it have gotten any more awkward than that? Probably.

"Hey, El," May said, sipping on her drink.
"Mhm?"
"Don't think I didn't notice the way you've been staring at Chad with the googliest eyes I've ever seen you make just now."

Eloria almost spit out her drink.
