katherine is good at not making things awkward while he stands next to her behind the chain fence. if anything, she pretends like nothing happened between the two, and still talks to him like they're siblings.

they both bicker over who should buy what, until they settle on a water bottle, a kit-kat bar, and a soft pretzel. by the time they get back to their spot leaning against the fence, pregame is over and the game has begun.

one thing he notices watching the game, is that even though the crowd is cheering everett on, everett himself pays no attention to it. he doesn't wave to the the fans like aidan does, he doesn't smile; he stays focused on throwing the ball.

katherine is clapping as their school scores another touchdown. "aren't they great?"

aidan nods. "yeah, they are."

he spots eve watching everett, and he gets it. the quarterback is pretty good.
