PART TWO- An alternate ending to the Clay x Macy x Kai Oneshot
Clay's POV
"Clay, I'm so sorry!" Macy burst out. "I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to upset you like that. I feel so guilty when I think about it. I'm sorry!"
I sighed. There goes my plan for ignoring her for the rest of time. Slowly, I turned to face her and flapped my hand. "Don't apologise- it's not as if you mean it, anyway."
Aaron let out a low whistle. "Harsh," I heard him mutter. "Alright, peeps! It's, umm, such a lovely evening! Why don't we have dinner outside? " He began ushering everyone out the door.
Meanwhile, Macy gaped at me. "W-what? I'm being completely sincere!" Her voice rose a bit at the end.
"I'm just gonna, uh, help Axl take the food out..." Kai mumbled. He then darted outside after everyone else.
I shook my head. "No need to lie, Macy. I saw you kissing Kai. You like him, not me. So what, exactly, are you apologising for?" I deliberately made that question sound sarcastic.
Macy swallowed. "I do like Kai," she said softly. "But not as much as I like you."
"Ha!" I laughed, despite the fact that the whole situation was completely devoid of humour.
"Why do you find that so hard to believe?" Macy asked exasperatedly. "I-"
"You're really asking me that?" I interjected. "You really don't know the answer?" When she didn't respond, I decided to help her out. I counted them off my fingers as I went along. "You kissed Kai in front of me, you kissed Kai in front of me and you kissed Kai in front of me... oh, and did I mention that you kissed Kai in front of me?"
"For your information," Macy snapped- I seemed to have gotten to her at last. "He kissed me, not the other way 'round. And I didn't know you would happen to come strolling down the sidewalk at that exact moment. In fact, if I had, I would've... I..."
"What?" I prompted. "Not kissed him? Somehow, I don't think so."
"Ugh!" Macy threw her arms up in the air. "Forget it! You know, at times like this, I really don't know how I fell for you, or even made friends with you..."
Ok, that one got to me. A look of regret flashed across Macy's face, but as quickly as it had come, it was gone. We both stood there in thick silence, too show how much our words effected each other.
Eventually, I let out a fake huff, rolled my eyes and Macy and stormed out- but not before saying, "Then maybe we shouldn't be friends."
