"You must remember me, Misa." The blonde stared at me in disbelief.

"Sorry, but no." I chuckled.

"We used to go to school together." I pulled out a picture from my bag. Misa stared at it long and hard.

"Hey, Matsu!" She exclaimed hugging me. I hugged her back.

"Come in." Misa opened the door and lead me to her room. "So how have you been?" I sat on her hot pink bed next to her.

"Good, I guess. What about you?" She shrugged.

"Oh. You know. Modeling and stuff." I sighed. Me and Misa go way back. I used to know her back in elementary school.

I stayed a couple of hours at her house before leaving. "Sorry, but I have to go. My brother would like me home. He says its dangerous to be out this late." Misa looked down at her watch.

"Oh. Sorry I kept you here so long. It's only 10 o'clock. Maybe I could walk you home." I put my hand up.

"No thanks. I'll be fine."

I walked in silence through the streets. I have no idea why I moved back to Japan. My father says that I'll be the most intelligent high school student here. I guess its a good thing that I've decided to join my father. He was very persistent. Plus, my brother has been working so hard on this Kira case. I hope he'll be glad to see me.

I stopped in front of his hotel room and knocked on his door. No one answered. I waited. "Who is it?" A man asked. It didn't sound like my brother.

"Family." I said. The door hardly opened, but I could see half of his face. He was paler than the last time I saw him. His hair was still spiked to the said. His eyes seemed half dead and matched the bags under his eyes.

My brother looked me up and down, as if examining me. Finally, his eyes met mine.

"I thought you were in America." I smirked slightly.

"I thought you were a famous singer." He didn't even cork a smile. Its been three years since I've seen him and he's changed so much. Usually, he would chuckle. My smile dropped.

"L, let me in." L closed the door. The locks clacked together as he begun to undo them. The door opened, allowing me to come in.

I walked inside my brother's hotel room. It was dark. Just the way he liked it.

"You can't call me L. From now on, for safety reason's only, call me Ryuuzaki." I turned around to meet my brother's black eyes.

"This must be really serious. Who are the suspects?" L walked over to me.

"You know I can't discuss that with family." He said towering over me. If you wanna play this game then fine.

"I am a P.I in America. I could be useful." L looked in my eyes, searching for a lie. His gaze lightened and he headed over to his chair. I turned around and sat on the couch across from him.

L sat in his chair in the fetal position. I crossed my legs and watched him.

"So far, we only have one suspect. The son of the police chief, Raito Yagami. I've been keeping a close watch on him."

"Have you found anything?"

"Nothing. There's a 5% chance that he could be Kira. As long as he doesn't know my real name, I'm safe." I nodded.

"These heart attacks. Can Kira kill in other ways too?"

"We believe that he can kill from a distance, control the time of death, the victim's actions, and kill them in different ways. So, yes." I exhaled.

"Your willing to put your life on the line for this case." I chuckled slightly. "Still stubborn as always, brother."

Me and L went over the recent events that I've missed. So far, something tells me that Light isn't your normal 16 year old boy. I yawned, stretching my arms out. "You can spend the night if you'd like." L offered. I smiled slightly.

"Thanks big brother. I'll see you in the morning." I gave L a kiss on the cheek before going to bed.

A week past. I sat next to L in front of his computer, analyzing the suicide notes of three prisoners. "It's like he's mocking you." I stated. I grabbed the three notes and layed them on the floor vertically. "L Do You Know Reapers Like Apples?" Me and my brother said at the same time.

"Is he trying to tell us that reapers exist?" L guessed. I observed the notes once more.

"Well, In America, I had looked up stuff like Death Gods and Reapers. Different things showed up, but there was never any solid facts that they exist. Do you think Kira . . ." I trailed off lost in thought. "No. He couldn't be. It's impossible."

"No. No. Go on. You may be onto something." My brother encouraged. I closed my eyes and sighed.

"Do you think Kira may have contact with a Death God?" It was silent. I opened my eyes and looked at L. He placed a thumb near the edge of his mouth as he thought.

He hesitated. "There is a probability that It could be true, but we need some solid facts to back it up. Assuming things will get us nowhere. Maybe even killed."

I nodded. "Well, since you say that, I'll need a fake name. It's not safe going around saying I'm Matsu Lawliet. Very few people already know my name because I used to live here. Now, I'm not sure if they still remember." L nodded. My brother and I had always thought alike. Its nice to know that he'll always be by my side.

"I actually thought you were going to say that, so Watari and I made a fake ID for you. You're now known as Konama Yagami."

My brows scrunched. "You mean, I'm going to be playing as a part of they're family?"

"As a cousin." My brother corrected. I sighed and ran a hair through my golden brown hair.

"You actually look like a part of there family. Anyone could mistake you for Raito's sister."

I shrugged. So does this mean Raito has golden brown hair like me? If he does, is it long or short? I shrugged this off.

"Thanks, Ryuuzaki. When should I get started?"

"Tomorrow. I already told Soichiro Yagami about your visit. He'll invite you in pretending your a part of the family. If he does his part, all will go well."

I raised an eye brow. My brother sighed. "Just do your best."

I nodded my head and gave him a peck on the cheek before leaving to pack my stuff. How long was this supposed "visit" suppose to be?

***

After packing up all my necessities, I saw my brother once more before leaving for the Yagami household.

When I arrived, I knocked on the door. No answer. Just as I was about to knock once more the door opened. It was Soichiro. "Nice of you to join us, Konama." I nodded.

"The pleasure is all mine." I said.

"Honey. Who is that?" A woman asked from the kitchen.

"Just a family member."

A woman with dark brown hair came up next to the man. She smiled at me. "You must be Light's cousin. I'll get him for you." She called Light's name and waited for him to come.

Down the stairs came a boy with light brown eyes and short golden hair. So this is Light? He doesn't look evil. "Light, this is your cousin Konama. She'll be staying in your room for a while." Light nodded and looked back at me. "Follow me." We went up the stair in silence. The door on the left was Light's room. A piece of paper was wedged between the door. I payed no mind to this.

***

I layed in Light's bed waiting for him to fall asleep. When I could hear snoring, slowly, I removed the covers off of me and tip toed out the door. I tip toed down the stairs, hoping they wouldn't creek. Sadly, they did.

Creek

"Hmm. Konama?" Footsteps followed down the stairs. I turned around to meet Light's curious yet cautious gaze.

"I was just going to meet a friend. I got a text." What a pathetic lie. I thought scolding myself. Light starred at me doubtfully.

"Whatever they have to tell you at three o'clock in the morning can wait."

"I promise I'll be home by sunrise. I'll see you later." I kissed Light's cheek and left out the door. When I left I felt Light's eyes burn a hole in my back.

When I arrived back at Ryuuzaki's apartment he didn't answer. Instead, I was greeted by a very formal butler. He had to be in his eighty's or ninety's at least. "I'm sorry, but Mister Ryuuzaki isn't home at the moment."

I nodded in defeat. "When he does come, tell him Konama was looking for him." The butler nodded his head and went off.

I sighed walking back to the Yagami household. That Light . . . I thought thinking about how he was concerned about me. It was probably just some trick. L warned me about these things. I can't let Light get the best of me.

I gasped as a hand wrapped around my arm. "Where have you been? I've been worried." I calmed down slightly when I realized it was just Light.

"You shouldn't be out either, you know." I said turning toward him. Light smirked slightly.

"Well, why don't we go home then?"

"Sounds fine with me."
