Tia sank underneath the water when she heard his voice. She came up spurting water from her mouth.
She pushed her hair out of her face and looked at him.
He was smiling. What the hell was he doing here? She thought he had left.
“I thought you left.” She said once she had regained her composure.
“Not a chance.” He watched as her eyes quickly darted to where her clothes used to be.
Damnit she thought, those were the only clothes she had brought with her. And she didn’t t bring a towel or blanket.
“Where are my clothes Zayn?” She asked, not moving from where she was.
“I moved them.”
“Give them back.” She demanded.
Zayn smiled at her again. She was getting frazzled. “Nope.”
“I figured if I left the house, you’d come back and get your things and leave.”
“I’m not leaving.”
“Why? You don’t want anything to do with me. I could see it in your eyes Zayn. So just leave and get on with your life. Be happy and forget about me.” She turned and swam towards the other side of the pond.
Zayn began to remove his clothes. She wasn’t going to get away from him that easily.
Tia didn’t want to turn around and watch him walk away. It would break her heart once again.
She yelped in surprise when she heard the splash and felt the ripples in the water. She tried to swim away as he neared her, but surprisingly, he caught her in his arms.
“You hate swimming! And you’re naked!” She said with a shriek.
“Isn’t that what you are when you go skinny dipping?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at her. “And I don’t really hate swimming.”
“Let me go. Get out of my life Zayn!” She struggled in his arms, which only tightened his hold on her.
“We are going to talk Tia. Whether you like it or not. Come on.” He took her hand and began to pull her towards shore.
She struggled until he gave her his determined look.
“Fine.”
Why couldn’t he have just gone away and left her in her heartache? Why did he have to come back and make her feel everything that she didn’t want to feel?
Everything that she wanted to put out of her mind. And here he was with her.
