The Boy and the Beast (Person of Choice x Reader)

New Day, but Also a New and Uncertain Life....

Kai/Ryoko POV

This morning I was woken up by someone screaming and someone running around making a loud thumping noise every time they stepped.

Apparently, it was the big beast man running after Kyuta, and Hyakushubo and Tatara were in the windowsill watching. "What are they-" I then get interrupted by my own yawn as I stand next to Hyakushubo. "Doing?" I finish myself.

"Oh, I didn't notice you there, Kumatetsu said that he 'named' you 'Ryoko' are you ok with that?" he asks me. I had presumed that 'Kumatetsu' was the big, red beast. "Yeah, its better than the names I use to be called," I say as the two look at each other curiously, wondering what I meant.

Suddenly, I get pulled by Ren "C'mon Ryoko!" Kyuta says as he drags me out the door and down the steps. "Hey!" Kumatetsu. "We'll never be your apprentices!" Kyuta says while dragging me down the lot of stairs fast.

Me being me, I lose my balance a few times and almost fall. "Stop running!" I hear Kumatetsu scream at us. Me and Kyuta continue running till' we are in the busy streets of Jutengai.

He then puts his shirt around his head like a woman's bonnet while I covered my face with my navy blue scarf and grey beanie. As I was looking around I noticed that there were so many different varieties of things to buy.... clothing, food, and furniture there was also a blacksmith shop.

We then see 2 little boys standing next to a stand selling sweet foods. One had brown/golden fur with small, pointed ears with an ice cream sundae in his hand. I couldn't see the other one because he was facing away from me, but I could see that he had somewhat white and brown fur, with ears as well.

"Yum, do you want some?" the one with ice cream said. The other one shook their head saying 'no'. "Well, alright that's fine by me. Then, it's all mine," he says.

Me and Kyuta then look at the ice cream hungrily, we hadn't really eaten since last evening and it looked like it was maybe about 10:00 or somewhere around that time.

"Let's see.... I think I'll start off with an orange," he says as he brings the orange to his mouth, but then puts it back down. "Nope, I changed my mind. It'll be better if I start off with the cherry," he says as he puts the red cherry into his mouth.

"Jiromaru, look, there's father!" the other little boy says. I was assuming that 'Jiromaru' was the one he was talking to, which was also.... his brother? "Huh, hey dad," Jiromaru says to his father.

"Ichirohiko, Jiromaru, are you training hard boys?" their father asks I was assuming that the other boy was Ichirohiko. "Yes," they both say simultaneously. "Would you demonstrate more techniques for us, sometime?" Ichirohiko asks his father. "Of course, how about now?" he says as he then hears a voice behind him.

"Master?" a man behind him asks. "Never mind, it looks like it will have to wait until later," he says as both Ichirohiko and Jiromaru get disappointed faces. "But, you always say that...." Jiromaru wines. "Ok!" Ichirohiko says changing his expression very quickly. "I'm sorry boys," he says as he looks over at something.

I look as well myself and I see that Kumatetsu was looking through the crowds for me and Kyuta. "Kumatetsu," the boys' father says as he walks over to Kumatetsu. Me and Kyuta then duck trying to make sure that we don't get seen. "Oh, hi Iozan," Kumatetsu says. 'Oh so that's Iozan....' I think.

"From what I hear, you've finally found your self some apprentices," Iozan says. "Yeah, but I lost track of em' somehow," Kumatetsu says. "Have you see em' one's a little kid about this size and another one this size," Kumatetsu says as he shows Iozan our heights.

"They're children?! But your practically still a child yourself!" Iozan jokes. "Yeah, what do you know," Kumatetsu says grumpily. "I'm speaking as a father of 2 children, it isn't easy. You might not have what it takes to be a guardian. Not everybody does," Iozan says as he shakes his head a little at the end.

"Yeah, whatever.... but I decide to do something and it gets done. One way or another. Now, where is that Kyuta and Ryoko? They're quicker than I thought they'd be for human kids," Kumatetsu says.

"Wait, what was that?! You aren't actually saying that your apprentices are human!?" Iozan asks. Suddenly I felt myself being picked up, I look and see both me and Kyuta were picked up by a beast with long horns and grey skin. "Master!" it says to Iozan.

"Hey! Let me go!" Kyuta screams as I just wriggle around trying to get out of the beast's grasp. Suddenly people start whispering and saying things. 'I guess its not a everyday thing that these people see humans," I think.

"Human children.... really?" I hear Iozan's son, Ichirihiko say. "What's one of them doing here in Jutengai?" Iozan's other son, Jiromaru says. "Ah, ha there you 2 are," Kumatetsu says.

"Listen to me Kumatetsu, you don't know what you're getting yourself into!" Iozan says. "What're you talking about, I'm just taking in an apprentice," Kumatetsu says. "You know why we don't live among the humans, they appear weak, but they harbor darkness within their hearts. What if, one of them gets possessed by that darkness. Have you stopped and thought about that? They could grow up to be a terrible monster," Iozan says.

"Monster? Heh, their just some scrawny kids, there's no monster in them," Kumatetsu assures But Iozan doesn't take it. "Kumatetsu, if you do this it will affect more people than just you!" "I decide what to do with my apprentices, got it!" "I am warning you to not do it for the sake of all beasts in Jutenga!!" Iozan screams at Kumatetsu.

People start getting curious about what was going on and gathering around the 2. "Heh, just listen to yourself.... 'for the sake of all beasts'. Like you think that your already the next lord," "Wha...." Iozan says surprisingly at Kumatetsu.

"If your so worried about what I'm doing with my own apprentices then why don't you stop me. We can fight for the lordship right now," me and Kyuta were surprised at the words that came out of Kumatetsu's mouth.

People all started talking and gossiping as they got in an oval shape around Iozan and Kumatetsu. Kumatetsu then took off and threw away his jacket leaving him in his tan, thin shirt....
