Thorns and Roses

All I ask

          I am that shoulder to carry thy burden.

I am those ears that listen always.

         I am that friend who would be there come rain or sunshine.

I'll cry with you and laugh with you.

      If need be I'll fight your battles for you.

My needs are always kept aside when it comes to friends.

     But know this I feel broken too sometimes.

I need a tight hug and the reassuring words.

     This happy face is my way to fight my battles.

I try to be strong; I am always there for you.

      But you should know I want the same from you.

And if you can't give the same as me; just be true to me.

                  It is all I ask.
