Hello all you beautiful people!! I don't remember if I mentioned it before (I probably did though) but today is the day.
The first Gotham convention is currently being held in Chicago, which for those who don't know, Illinois is a border state for me. Meaning that when I found out, I asked my dad about it, and we got tickets.
Not only will I be there cosplaying as my g Virus Lee, BUT
I'm meeting two of my Internet friends!
ANNNND I'm meeting the man who plays my husband AKA
CORY MICHAEL SMITH WHO BRINGS MY BEAUTIFUL BABY EDWARD TO LIFE
and possibly Robin, Sean, and Drew,,,,
BUT MAINLY CORY
and I'm on my way there, as I'm currently in Indiana.
ALRIGHT I JUST GOT OUT. AND.

FIRST OFF, MY INTERNET FRIENDS ARE GREAT.

I'M NOT GONNA GO INTO DETAILS, BECAUSE I WANNA MAKE THE ACTUAL MEETING HIM AS PERSONAL AS I CAN. BUT OKAY, LET'S START FROM THE BEGINNING.
I went to go do my makeup for my whole virus Lee look, which is where I ran into my first Internet friend, Nat. Which was when I knew how great this was gonna be.
THEN, I was at Robin's Q/A panel, where he started talking about homophobia, and everyone began to cheer him on how he was talking about love being love. (Much to my dad's slight confusion and frustration, seeing as he's a huge homophobe.)
After that, Sean came out. They played the 007 theme and everything, and all the questions were great.
And then I asked one and someone kinda took mine so I kinda inprovised and asked him about an Alfred he kinda took inspiration from, if any.
Which was honestly a lame ass question.
Then I was walking out and waiting to find my friends, and I saw Faye, but I didn't know if it was her, so I didn't say anything. Then Nat comes back and we're talking and she didn't know either, so then she shouts, and I quote, "MEEPING TURTLES, BRO" (long story)
anD FAYE STARTS LAUGHING AND WE ALL KNEW WHO WAS WHO THEN AND WE ALL GOT TOGETHER.
So then Faye gives me a gift for my birthday, and IT'S ROBIN'S SIGNATURE. LIKE HOLY SHIT. THIS MAN MAY NOT HAVE MET ME, BUT HE KNOWS MY NAME.
So I was honored, and then it was time for photo ops. Now, the line was crazy, and that's a whole other story. And then I got inside and I was like "------offkdjdjsKKakekdkjddjKEKEKDJDJD"
And then I shook his hand, but I'm a lefty, so like I had to switch hands and it was a whole awkward ordeal, ft. me apologizing 394583 times.
But yeah, the pictures look so bad oml
Anyways, then it was time for the Q & A, and I got up again to ask a question, but I made a reference.
Because of the cosplay, I said I had some time to kill while my ex sees the light, and he just kinda stared at me, sksksk
Anyways, I mentioned that I loved Dog Food and what I've seen of Olive Kitteredge and all that jazz, and the answer I got was way more intense than I expected, which was lit.
AND THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN (BMC reference, bye) I GOT MY PICTURES (which again looked like trash because I was in them, but I'm making it my pic for everything now)
AND THEN THERE WAS THE SIGNING, WHERE I GOT SOME PICS WITH SOME COSPLAYERS 👌
then there was the signing, which I wanna keep to myself, because that was when I actually made eye contact for the first time in like ever.
But like oh my gosh, what an experience. CORY SANG PURPLE RAIN.

I'm now heading home sitting next to my turkey sub, and this is the first entry of my "mostly just..." journal ish rant thing since my birthday and since I went to my first convention.
