Mad Sounds by the Arctic Monkeys filled the greenroom backstage. Everyone had their own little spot, Kyle had claimed the armchair in the corner of the room and was sitting sideways on it, with one leg over the arm of the chair and his back against the other. Will and Woody had claimed the couch while Sam was sitting at the small table, laptop open and connected to a small printer, taping away at the keys. Lucy had decided just to sit on the ground and lean against the wall, she was loading some of the footage from earlier on in the day onto her laptop. And Dan... well Dan was pacing. Phone in hand from one end of the room to the other. And he walked right past Lucy, every single time.

"Do you always do this before a gig?" Lucy suddenly asked, stopping Dan in his tracks.

"Do what?"

"Pacing, are you really that nervous" Lucy gently closed the lid of her laptop and crossed her arms over it, looking up at Dan who was stood infront of her.

"Its the first show of the tour and I just feel like something is going to go wrong" He confessed, running his hand through his hair.

"You have now officially been introduced to Pessimist-Dan, hope you like him 'cause he's not going anywhere anytime soon" Sam interrupted casually from his seat, not taking his eyes away from his laptop and reaching for his cup of tea.

"Right..." Lucy hesitated, trying to figure out how she was going to approach the situation "Right!" She excited exclaimed after a few seconds. She took her laptop and put it on the small coffee table and proceeded to push from the middle of the room towards the couch that Will and Woody were sitting on to make more floor space in the center of the room. After moving the little coffee table she pulled her phone out of her pocket, swiping at the screen as she walked over to the stereo and docked her phone in. The the smooth tune of Mad Sounds was quickly replaced with the rocking guitar solo of I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor.

Dan roared with laughter, bending over as Lucy began to do the most exaggerated air guitar imaginable. Stop making the eyes at me, I'll stop making my eyes at you she sung, throwing her arms in the air and shaking her head to the side.

"Come on Dan!" Lucy said over the music, hopping over to where Dan stood, What it is that surprises me is that I don't really want you to, Dan shook his head but couldn't wipe the smile off his face as Lucy continued singing.

And your shoulders are frozen, Lucy grabbed Dans shoulders firmly and began to rock him sideways, trying to get him to join in

Cold as the Night!, Woody backed up, hitting the high note.

Oh, but you're an explosion, Lucy continued, still trying to coax Dan into joining.

You're dynamite! Both Kyle and Will had decided to join in from where they were seated. Now Dan was the only one left. Dispite the wide smile on his face he kept shaking his head and looking at his feet, he was doing a poor job of deterring Lucy as she now had a hold of his wrists and began moving his arms about and dragging him around with her.

Your name isn't Rio- Lucy began again, this time Dan couldn't resist, but I dont care for sand and lighting the fuse- he quietly mumbled along, looking up from his feet, might result in a bang-ba-ba-bang-go. He screwed his face up and banged his head a bit as he sung the last line, finally getting into the song and making Lucy throw her hands up in victory, smiling in the process.

I BET THAT YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR

I DONT KNOW IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR ROMANCE

OH I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR...

The whole room joined in for the chorus, even Sam, who multi tasked as he printed out various documents. Dan was singing into an invisible microphone. Will and Kyle were jamming out on air guitars and Woody smashed his invisible drums. Lucy danced around the room, her hair had completely fallen out of its bun at this stage but she didnt care.

Dancing to electro-POP like a robot from nineteen eighty-four, Dan bent over in laughter as Lucy and Kyle began doing some terrible variation of the robot. They didn't notice Sam getting up from his seat and grabbing Lucy's camera, he thought this was too good to miss and Lucy was obviously occupied.

Sam did his best to keep the camera focused as he captured Lucy and the other guys jamming out to the rest of the song. No one noticed, they were all too busy being lost in the arctic. With one final strum of an air guitar the song came to an end. The room burst into an applause and Dan who no longer appeared to be nervous in the slightest, swept in to hug Lucy.

"I guess you're in the zone then?" She asked with a laugh as they pulled away from the hug.

"I am most definitely in the zone, thank you Lucy" Dan confirmed. "I think this might have to become a new pre-gig ritual." Lucy nodded, but her smile faded and her eyes widened as she looked past Dan to finally notice Sam with her camera pointed at them.

"SAM! You little shit, were you recording that?" Lucy rushed over to a laughing Sam and took the camera off him. "Oh god, I look ridiculous" she said putting a hand over her face as she watched back the footage. The rest of the boys crowded around, pointing and laughing at their shenaigans as they passed the camera to eachother so they could all have a look.

"Okay, okay" Sam said finally composing himself, "You lot might want to do your warm ups, doors open in fifteen"

"OH! I wanted to get some footage of the line" Lucy suddenly said, tying her hair back into a ponytail with a hair tie she had around her wrist. She shook her head, causing a few strands of hair to fall out around her face and grabbed her camera off Kyle, putting the strap around her neck, careful not to catch any of her hair beneath it. "I'll be back before the show starts" she said as she made her way out the door of the green room and into the corridor.

"Lucy wait!" A voice called down the corridor as she was about to turn the corner, she looked towards the source of the voice and spotted Dan semi-jogging towards her, a lanyard clutched in his hand. "You might need this to get back in" he said when he reached her, lifting the string over her head and putting it around her neck, she looked down to find a laminated badge with a triangle and the word Crew printed on it.

"Oh right, thanks Dan" Lucy said, still looking at the laminated badge that was around her neck "I probably would have been stuck out there for hours" she continued, looking back up at Dan.

"Nonsense, I would have noticed you were gone" he replied casually, his eyes widening as he realised what he said "I- I mean, we, would have noticed. Someone would notice, like Sam or umm, you- you know what I mean" he blurted out. He could feel the head creeping up his neck and hoped it didn't show on his face. Lucy just quietly giggled to herself at Dan's adorable attempt to cover up what he had said.

"Well I umm, should probably go do my job" Lucy said pointing her thumb around the corner that she was intending on going down before Dan stopped her.

"Right yeah, you- you go do that" Dan said nodding, he ran his hand through his hair and scratched the back of his neck as he did during their last awkard moment back at the hotel. Lucy smiled and nodded, turning on her heel and heading down the corridor.

"Send a search party if I'm not back before the show starts" she yelled back with a laugh.
