I placed my hoodie up and my bandana andcontinued helping the boys carry Winston.
We finally came to an area and Idrank some water. Winston tried reaching for the gun and it went off. Hestarted throwing blood up.
He lay back down and I checked his stomach. I lookedat the others and looked back down. He said "Please. Please. Don't let me turninto one of those things."
I looked at his mouth and saw it was black.
I said"Winston... You're not making it because of what they did to you..." I lookedat Frypan and he gave me the gun.
I looked at Winston and placed it on hischest. I left and hugged Minho; I looked at the girls and saw they had tears intheir eyes.
We walked away and heard a gunshot. Slowly, tears fell from my eyesonto my cheeks and into the sand.
We stopped moving and after a minutecontinued. We had walked onto the dessert floor and Minho had gone for a drinkfrom his water but it was empty, he threw the bottle away.
I walked over andgave him some of mine. That night, we had all went to sleep on the floor. Wewere woken up from Thomas who saw lights.
