The Unforgettable Love

Chapter 7

Vanessa's P.O.V

It's been one week of me joining school. And to be honest it wasn't a fun one. All week I was going to school in morning with Jess, and then staying all day in my room doing homeworks, studying and stressing over school. I saw teenage girls in movies having fun on their first day of school and getting famous. But nah! Real life isn't like movies! This is the thing I hate about movies. They don't show practical things but things that aren't possible in real life. But again I kinda enjoy watching them as it's a break from the real world.

Anyway, the good thing about this week was that I got to know Sofia, Sasha and Peter more and we hang out at lunch together at times.
Peter's very friendly and gentle, we're getting close slowly. He's like my best brother, because obviously, I don't have anyone to compare him with.

"Sweetie it's late, I think I should give you a ride" my dad says.
I was waiting for Jess so that we can walk together to school but no sight of her yet. I walked up to her house too and her mom said she already left.
"I guess I'll take the ride" I smile weakly at dad because I was upset about the fact that my best friend left for school without telling me.

I reach school, waved goodbye to dad and walked straight toward my locker and take my books out. I felt someone poking my shoulder and turn around to see who it was.

Peter.

"Hey!" I smile at him.

"Hey, why do you look sad?" He asks with concern.

"It's Jess, she-" I get cut off by him saying

"Oh my god I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you"
He says giggling and I give him a confused look.

"She got a call from school last night, she needed to come early today to do some works related to sports" he says "she told me to tell you at night as you weren't picking up her phone"

"Oh" suddenly a thought came in my mind, "You guys were chatting late night????" I ask curiously and he looks at me shocked

"I-uh-um yeah k-kinda" he says and I gave a smirk. He lets out a chuckle and leaves for his class.

"Oh my god!" I say laughing.

"Really! And I was standing there trying to hide my laugh" Sasha says.
She was talking about a childhood memory of hers, where she blames her small brother for breaking her mom's favourite vase, when Sasha herself broke it by accident. Later, her poor brother got grounded for one whole day!

"You're so evil!" Sofia says chuckling.

We all turn our head towards the entrance of the cafeteria we were in, after hearing some familiar voice laughing. We widen our eyes at the scene in front of us.

Jess and Peter walking in, hand in hand talking to each other and laughing. Peter kisses her cheek, she smiles  and he heads out the cafe.

I hold my mouth by both of my hands with a shocked expression. (Like this emoji 😱) Sasha copies me and Sofia puts her left hand over her heart, we all having shocked and dramatical expression on our faces. 

Jessica looks at us and her cute smile changes to a worried expression in a matter of seconds. Aww poor Jess I feel bad for her. I was laughing mentally at this situation and so were Sofia and Sasha.

We all slowly keep our head down and hands on the table as Jess walked in, just to scare her. Because that's what best friends are for!

"So you and Peter huh?" I say sternly, still keeping my head down, we all trying to act emotionless and betrayed.

"Nessa, if you don't like us together I swear I'll break up with him. Just don't please be angry at me." She looks at Sofia and Sasha who were quite putting their head down, staring at their hands, "Guys? Please say something"

We three burst off laughing and the expression on Jess's face was priceless! She was looking so cute! Just like a new born baby getting confused seeing the people around her.

"Chill babes! We were just kidding" Sasha says still laughing.
Jessica rolls her eyes at us but end up chuckling.

"But I'm still a bit sad" I say dialling down my laugh and Jess raised her eyebrow.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" I ask

"He just asked me out last night, I even called you so many times but you weren't answering." She says.

"Maybe I was asleep hehe, but hey! I'm so happy for you" I pull her in a hug and she hugs back.

"OK girls, Peter is having a party this weekend and he wants us all to join it." Jess says excitedy.

"Cool! But why suddenly?" Sofia asks

"He said his cousin from New Jersey is moving with him, permanently"

"What for?" I ask

"He saw you in dreams so couldn't stay from you, hot stuff!" She said annoyed. But that hit me a bit though, as, you know why. (She gets dreams, that's why) "what do you mean by 'what for?' stupid? He's coming because he wants to! Their family matter" Jess says

"Ohh" I whisper

"I can't wait for the weekend!" Sasha says excitedy.

"Me neither!" Sofia and Jessica say in unison.
And as for me, I don't know what high school parties are like.
