My eyes examined the arena tensely as I searched for any sign of my uncle throughout the crowd Juan kept stealing reassuring glances at me throughout the night and giving me small smiles. "desde el principio siempre estuve pa' ti" he sang with his eyes meeting mine making me smile he retorted his gaze to his fans and continued on with his performance "you know" a voice speaks from behind me frightening me "your mom is worried" a voice in which I've been dreading to hear states I turn to see my uncle, Lupillo, standing right beside me "come estas mija?" he asked giving me a hug "I've missed you" he says kissing the top of my head "I've missed you too tio" I say smiling at him "it shouldn't take you running away for us to see each other mija" he says with a chuckle
"how mad is she?" I asked expecting to hear the worst "she hasn't disowned you yet so that's a good sign" he says with a smile "she's never going to forgive me is she?" I asked "aye Mija she'll come around eventually. you know your mom she doesn't think before taking action just give her time. call her, let her know you're all right" he says and puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder "she already hates Juan tio, I'm underage shes going to make me go back with them. this is a once in a lifetime experience" I explain and look back on stage to see Juan already starring at me with a confused face
"ill talk to your mom mija, just talk to her please?" he pleads with me I nod "I will" I respond with a smile
he looks out on stage to where Juan is holding the hand of a fan and singing to her "you must really love him." he says "oh no we're-"
"don't come at me with that "we're just friends" bullshit por que no me haces pendejo mija" he says making me laugh "if he fucks up I'm beating his ass"
"tio!" I explain playfully slapping his arm "what? you're like my daughter and I'm not letting that fool break your heart. Mija if anything happens call me alright?" He says looking at me with a reassuring stare "I will thank you for everything" I say giving him a hug "ya me tengo que ir I'll see you later mija. I love you"
