I ran out of the building as fast as I could. My head was pounding and nothing made sense. Well, it did, but I refused to believe it. I got home in no time at all and sat on my bed. My persistent headache was stronger now, and I was exhausted. I rolled on my back and closed my eyes. It had been an extremely long day. I reviewed what had happened today and how it could've made more sense than it did now. I thought hard about this but drifted asleep.
The next day at school, my headache was gone and everything seemed normal again. I began to think yesterday was just a vivid dream. It was noon before I knew it, and my Language Arts teacher was babbling away. I glanced out the window and noticed a large, jet black bus outside the school. I raised an eyebrow and began to imagine movies where I saw ninjas come out of black cars and fight like...well, ninjas. I returned my focus to the lecture when my ears almost died. A brief, screeching alarm came from the fire alarm and all the kids in the room collapsed either on the floor or on their desks. All of the people in the classroom were unconscious except for two people. The teacher and me. I heard lots of heavy but fast footsteps going through the halls. Suddenly the door burst open and several very tall men in black or gray padded armor, like the SWAT team, marched in. I quickly pretended to be unconscious on my desk and listened to the footsteps around the room. I heard our teacher's voice. "I'm sorry, do you have a purpose here?" A deep, gruff voice, most likely one of the armored men, said, "We are here on behalf on the MTAI. We would appreciate your cooperation." At the name to the institute, I flinched. Hopefully nobody noticed. My teacher would just not back down. "But you don't have a license to be..." My teacher's voice cut out at the sound of a faint hissing noise. It reminded me of what the gas in the MTAI sounded like when the man used it. It was probably the same thing. I heard the men grunting and had no idea what they were doing until one of them picked me up. I opened my eyes wide in surprise. The man carrying me noticed and asked his fellow co workers, "Was this one vaccinated?" "I guess not," One of them replied. The man carrying me took out a small steel canister from his pocket and carefully, slowly, opened it. A light purple gas shot out and I gasped. I writhed and kicked him, but he was just too strong. Just before I went unconscious, I glanced around the room. Everyone was unconscious and being moved out of the room. My teacher was on the ground. My vision began to blur, and the edges of my vision started turning black. The last thing I saw was the black bus outside and a whole bunch of kids being loaded onto it.
