Trying her hardest not to leap into defensive action, she forcibly relaxed her muscles and acted like she belonged and knew what she was doing. Stealthily, the twelve-year old covered up the coloured instruction boxes and glanced behind her to see which Leaguer had come to speak to her.
"Hey Diana," said the Flash as he skidded to a stop behind her. Hallie clenched the fist at her side, flexing her finger muscles as she quickly attempted to remember which member of the Flash family this was. Clearly not Irey, not Wally, not Don or Dawn, so it had to be Barry.
"Barry," she replied, turning back to the screen as offhandedly as she could.
"You know," he continued, "I could have sworn you were off on that all-girls island of yours." Hallie grit her teeth, thinking of a reply, but he continued anyway, and she had a feeling he was going to sound like Irey in an endless excited chatter. It was difficult to keep up with her sometimes. "Anyway, Hawkman and I are the only ones up here, all the big guns are down at some superhero show they were asked to do for..." As he went on, the twelve-year old casually scrolled through documents, searching for the file they needed without raising suspicion. A bead of sweat built on the back of her neck as she finally landed on LIGHT Info-2011. There was 9GB of data in it. She wasn't sure if that was a big or small amount of information, but Lena and Alex would know. "-ana? Diana?" Apollo and Irey's great uncle's voice slowly came back into focus.
Forcing all the dryness she could into her words, she replied, "What?" He raised his eyebrows and turned around, going off on a tangent about people never listening to him. Quickly, while the hero wasn't looking, Hallie quickly moved the file to the memory stick and shut down the text boxes, which turned out to be a big mistake. A huge roar came from behind her and she turned just in time to flip a charging Hawkman onto his back and kneel on his chest.
"She's an imposter!" he yelled to the Flash, struggling to get free, but Hallie pinned him down with all her strength, silently cursing herself for not realising he was watching. Barry looked very confused.
"You dare question my identity?" she snarled in a way she imagined Wonder Woman would at someone questioning her honour. All of a sudden, Hawkman seemed rather lost, so Hallie figured she'd done an accurate impression.
"I... You are not..." he stuttered, looking between her and the screen, where (at the most inconvenient time possible) a new text box popped up.
Alex: You better hurry up Hallie. We need to move quickly and your brothers are getting worried. Alert us if you need any help getting out.
A victory cry erupted from Hawkman the moment the Flash caught on. Hallie exhaled short and sharp, knowing that to keep the Leaguers off their trail, she would need some espionage and maybe telepathic help from her brothers. She knew she would regret it and that it would prove in their minds that she was helpless, but she reached out with her telekinesis and depressed the emergency button on the memory stick. Half a second later, Hallie went flying across the room.
