Zach's POV

I sat on the same bench where Cammie and I had sat on that first day. I was basically alone, except for a few guards which I couldn't see in the darkness.

I sat there, knowing that I would have to eliminate at least one girl the next day. It has already gone down to six girls at the moment.

Just then, I heard footsteps. They sounded quiet and light, but I could tell that someone was running. Cammie.

"Cammie?" I whispered at first. "CAMMIE!"

She ran towards the gate, which I really don't know why it was open at this time. It should've been closed.

Screaming her name just made her run faster.

I started running towards her.

She ran even faster. Away from me.

Past the gates she ran, as I chased after her. I knew I was going to get a scolding from my parents from passing the gates. I ran anyways. For the love of my life.

"Prince Zachary!" I heard the guards shout. I didn't stop. I kept looking, but I lost her.

An hour later

This was basically the first time I had cried. My mother and father tried to comfort me as I laid face down onto my bed.

Father left the room to go to bed, leaving Catherine with.

"It'll be okay." she whispered, hugging me, "Maybe it's for the best."

I swear I just saw a smile on a face for a split second. "Goodnight Zachary," she said before exiting.

I couldn't believe what she told me. "Maybe it's for the best."

I cried myself to sleep that night. With my teddy bear.

The next morning

My eyes were red and puffy. Nobody will ever see me like this. Just then, my butler walked in and looked a little shocked to see that I obviously had been crying.

"Please bring my breakfast up to my room." I said with no emotion, "No one except you and my parents will see me like this."

He nodded and scurried down to fetch me some food.

The others will eventually find out what happened. It was only down to Cammie, Bex, Liz, Macey, Tina, and Eva. Tonight, I was going to send Tina and Eva back home. Cam, my Gallagher girl, was going to be my first choice. She still is, but I didn't know what was going to happen.

I stared at myself in the mirror. "She ran away from you." I told myself, just making myself even sadder.
