Chapter 9: I Love You, Simple But Effective

7 Months Later

May 3rd 2012

"You guys ready?" I asked Beau, Kali, Daniel, James, Jai's Mom and a couple other of their friends. 

"Yeah let's do this shit!" James whispered.

Today was Luke and Jai's birthday. It was 5:48 in the morning and we decided to wake them up by singing Happy Birthday. Jai's Mom lighted up the candles on the simple round cake with 17 on it that Beau was holding 

I opened the door and we all piled inside the small room. Daniel and I climbed up to the top bunk and sat where Jai was sleeping.

I looked over at Jai's Mom and she counted down on her fingers.

3,2,1.

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!" We all sung. I saw Jai's eyes flicked a bit. "Happy Birthday Dear Jai and Lukkkke. Happy Birthday to you!!!"

"Annnd manny more!" I heard Kali add. Jai got up and tiredly rubbed his eyes and stretched.

"Hah thanks you guys." He reached over and gave me a soft kiss.

"Aw what about me?" Daniel asked.

"Oh come here Skip!" Jai brought Daniel's face to his and they pretended to make-out. Every started laughing.

"Hey what a kiss from your old Mama?" Jai's Mom asked. She reached over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Ok you guys need to blow out your candles!" Luke stood up but Jai blew up most of the candles.

"Little bitch." Luke murmured. Jai's Mom lighted up another which Jai blew out and she lighted another and this time Luke pushed Jai away.

"Hehe." Jai chuckled. They got out of bed and we all went to the kitchen to cut the cake. We all laughed and talked and got cake on a couple peoples faces but it was all good. In the 7 months that Jai and I had "started over" Beau had finally gotten a stable girlfriend. Her name was Evalyn and she was a dancer. She had super pretty long golden blond hair and dark blue eyes. She had a dancer's body, lean and long. I had first met her about a month ago when Jai, Luke, Kali, Beau, her, and I went an outting.   

For a present I got Jai a penny board that he wanted for Christmas and a new snapback for Luke. Kali though she was more homemade. She had baked them all cookies and decorated them (with help from me though).

"Thanks babe." Luke said to Kali as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.

We all relaxed at the house playing ping pong, Foosball and watching videos of Jai and Luke when they were younger.

"Aww Jai your hair!" I said as I watched a video of Jai and Luke playing in the backyard.

"I look so retarded." He chuckled. 6:00 came round and that's when Kali and I told Jai and Luke the big news.

"Hey guys we have one more birthday present." We both smiled and handed them an envelope.

They both furrowed their eyebrows and opened the envelope.

The pulled out the 4 tickets and read them. In 2 seconds the mouths dropped.

"OH MY GOSH!!!!!!" They yelled and jumped up and down. Everyone laughed at their super excited faces. Luke grabbed Jai's head and kissed him on the cheek.

"WE'RE GOING TO AN ESSENDON GAME!!!" Jai came over and scooped me up and spun me around.

"Thank you so much!" He planted a sloppy kiss on my cheek and I laughed.
