This was out of the blue!
I unlock the house with the key I was given and raced to Colby's room.
I knock in the door too many times to count. He opens the door and I embrace him. He hugs we tightly until closing the door and sitting me down "y/n, what happened?" Colby asked in a very loving and caring voice. And that's when I spilled everything, but not the part where I thought about how I loved Colby.
"Y/n, are you ok??!" He sounded so worried.
So much pity in his voice " I...I've never heard him like that. Try to talk to him-" and that's when we hear a door open and shut forcefully."but Colby" I say wiping the tears falling from my face "it took me a while to realize. But I love you" I say.
Colby looks shocked, then happy "y/n" he says "you love me back?" Sam comes in "y/n...I heard you say it" he says, looking heartbroken "you love Colby, not me. I get it, but y/n" he says, ever so softly "don't hurt yourself by dating him" Sam says, giving me a big hug.
"I also know you heard me and Colby arguing" Sam says, I nod. "Well, let me tell you why"
Sam begins "I loved you, y/n, since I actually got to know you. But when Colby did, I could see the look on his face that clearly said he loved you. You never noticed and before you did I brought him downstairs and told him to leave you the hell alone, y/n is mine. That's why he went to his room and started ignoring you. I tried to understand you like Colby does and I understand now that Colby is better than me and understands you better. I would like to apologize for yelling, I just tried to make you forget about Colby and I know it was selfish and if you don't like me I understand" he says and I speak up.
"Sam, I will like you as a best friend, but I don't love you. it took a lot for me to realize, I'm sorry" I say hugging him "I have some editing to catch up on. I'll see you guys later" Sam says getting up and waving at us as he left the room.
"Y/n, I know you just did a date with Sam, but I need to ask you something" Colby says grabbing my hands "y/n
l/n" he says, I was happy "will you be my girlfriend?"
