''Yes, sorry, Elizabeth. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again,'' Mr. Mackentosh said. He looked up at a two-meter tall woman, who also went by the name of Ms. Jister.
She glared down at him. Then at us. ''It better not happen again! My students are taking a quiz at the moment and cannot concentrate with this...clangorous noise!'' She exclaimed and exaggerated.
A quiz? Already? So early into the year? Dear God, bless them!
''I apologize,'' Mr. Mackentosh repeated, calmly looking at the raging lady. ''I'll make sure it doesn't happen again.''
With a last glare and a huff, she stalked out of the room, closing the door with an energetic pull.
I guiltily glanced over at Travis who was looking at Mr. Mackentosh's profile. Grimacing.
''You two,'' Our teacher said sternly. He opened his mouth and I thought he would start lecturing us but he didn't. Instead he sighed. ''Just keep it down, okay?''
He sighed again and walked back to the front of the room. Travis and I were standing there dumbfounded.
''Okay,'' I drawled, not sure of what just happened. ''Let's just continue with our family tree.'' It was meant to be a statement but came out as a question.
''No,'' Mr. Mackentosh interrupted.
Where'd he just come from? Didn't he just go to the front?
''We'll do that a different time. The lesson is over,'' He informed all of us. Everyone was already packing up. ''See you all on Monday.''
I wanted to turn around and pledge my goodbye's to Travis but he was already gone. No trace of him left.
I sighed.
Oh, well then.

Saturday was gone in a glimpse.
Sunday ended before it even started.
The weekend ended too fast.
Now, here I was, sitting in Math class, writing down equations, looking forward to Mr. Mackentosh's class. Per email, he had informed us all that he was going to announce the big info today.
I jumped out of my seat as I heard the teacher's muffled, ''Class dismissed.''
Walking down the hallways of Snow Hill High, next to Ava and Noah. Ava was telling us about one of her amazing adventures she had undergone on her Africa trip. This story took place in Mozambique.
Noah gasped. ''No way!''
Ava rolled her eyes. ''Yes way!''
''That's so cool! I've never seen an eal before,'' Noah admitted. I chuckled, he reminded me of my four-year-old cousin. His eyes also went all big when I told him a story about school.
''Have you ever even been snorkeling?'' I asked Noah.
He shook his head sheepishly.
Ava's eyes bulged. ''What? Dude, you've been missing out big time! It's the most serene and peaceful scenery, you'll ever have seen. Especially, when you-''
I tuned them out as Ava started gushing about the underwater world of the Indian Ocean. She kept going, even when we were already in class. They both ignored their partners and kept talking about snorkeling.
